Yes they will!

Several G5 owners that have tracked their cars have said that the front tire seems to be too small, this pic shows why that has been said.

Have had 315 R6s on the front of mine for for several track days. Turn in is good and understeer is nil. Allan

Jack, can you (and anyone else who has) describe how that setup is on the track? I ask because it is less rear grip with (345 vs 355) and more front grip (315 vs 295) so wondering how it impacted the balance and tire pressures and MCS suspension settings you are running. I would think the car would be looser now given all things equal, but if you felt is was pushing before, that is a good thing. Love to get you take.

With Hoosiers their is not less grip at the rear. Front, more grip. Rear, more grip. My car is set up with MCS shocks and set pretty stiff. Allan

The A6 345 rears actually have more print on the ground than the oem 355's. This is an autox set up and may not directly translate to a road course. This was my first time out with this set up so I am in a learning mode. The temps averaged 55, but, I had good grip. You know immediately you made a tire change. It is like a dart, you turn the wheel and there is no hesitation. I actually dropped the pressure down to 26/24 and still did not ride up on the side wall, close but workable.

The best set up for pressure was 27/F and 25/rear. The first run increased the pressure by approx 4 psi. Subsequent runs would raise the pressure by 2 psi, however, the ambient was only 55. These pressures will work for autox, but, I do not believe it would be usable on a road track. This course had a skid pad and I had to lower the compression to reduce the ratcheting/skipping of the front tires. I had a little over steer, but, that was more my fault, I started out a little too stiff on the rear compression. To say the least, the shock settings are a work in progress.

A comparison of the front tires.

Ahh, should have looked closer to realize A6's vs R6's. My point on the size difference relates to my experiences with Gen3's and R6's where we run 295's in fronts and 345's in rear.

Allan, sorry was not referring to less grip to the stock tires. purely meant from a R6 perspective and the size diff. I then later realized they were A6's for autocross when I was really looking for R6 guidance with this setup on a road course for a G5.

My car is set up for Road Course. R6 315 front, R6 345 rear, Car handles well. I have the MCS shocks too, and I think i've got a good base setting for my car. Still thinking more about spring rates, can't get much info for the TA. 500/800 now , might go to 700/1000. My car is used primarily for track. If anyone has any impute I would love to hear it. How is the tire wear of the R6 vs. the stock Corsa tires? Given the same use would you get more or fewer track sessions out of the R6 than the Corsa?

For me R6s are good for about 12 heat cycles. That would equate to 3 track days. I would classify myself as a good intermediate driver. Also, I don't need, nor can I afford, to replace tires when they just start to fall off. Corsas will last about 5 track days, but are CLEARLY INFERIOR to R6s on the track. If you only do an occasional track day they are fine. Hope this helps. Allan

Has anybody run the R888R 315’s on the front at the track yet ? I have the TA alignment on a GTS with venom wheels.

I routinely start pressures at 27f/25r with my Hoosiers on the road course. Sometimes a little lower depending on temperature. Pressures will climb 10psi or more. No ill effects yet. I had a race this past weekend and ran 3 year old R7's. The damn things just won't die.

On SW II's - more balanced vs. 295's with less push. A little more rear end wiggle under hard breaking

Alright guys, I took the plunge Toyo R888R

315/30/18 Fronts
345/30/19 Rear

TA Alignment specs
Lowering caps

I put on about 50 km today . No rubbing at full lock, low speed, drove with full traction on, no issues, although I can confirm the road noise on certain super smooth black top when you are over 110 km/h. Its like a high pitched whine. Cant hear it if your on the throttle or have the stereo at any reasonable volume. No idea on traction, I will report on next track day.

Great !
I chicken-out and ordered a set of Toyo R888R in 295- 345 about 2 weeks ago to have in stock to replace the Corsas when they're done.
315s will be for next time around

How are the toyo’s in the rain at highway speeds?

I just came back from Viper Rendezvous. My tire choice was 315 R888r's up front. Cold pressures at 26-27 psi were the best. Higher pressures caused a lot of wiggle on heavy braking. No traction control issues on track mode. I do get the traction control light to come on on heavy acceleration if I am running on "regular" street mode. TA 1.0 car on stock alignment and SWII rims.

I’m pretty sure any non slick tire is gonna I dice traction issues in the right first gear circumstances.
