Not in a million years would I put 3.73's in a gen V. I already turn 2,000 RPM's at 70. I tend to cruise above that so it already feels short to me. The only gear that is long in the gen V is 1st. Go 3.73's if your primary focus is Autocross, 1/4 mile or 1/8 mile racing.
Just my opinion.

If your doing it for the street, which I am gambling you are, then it will give the extra OOMF !! in your step from light to light against those pesky ZR1's and the occasional done up roadster or classic. I would do it in a minute. I don't care much for the track or so, its irrelevant to me.
Now on the other hand, if you are highway cruiser or track guy, I would keep what I got. They put the 3:55's in there and balanced the car properly with the tranny gear ratios to give you optimum performance.
Now this is all coming from a guy who doesn't own one or driven one. Just some food for thought.

Love the gear ratios, and the long-legged 1st that seems to never end. Initial impression is that 2nd, 3rd and 4th seem perfect for all-around lose-your-licence performance, and 5th and 6th are a rather futile nod to fuel economy. Could be a lot of frustrated hi-po car owners around here because if they want to have a shot at beating mine they'll have to show up on the road course and try to earn it...until then they'll have to live with both me and Randy Pobst's lap times making them feel unworthy :)

I don't think you'll feel that much of a difference, that's only a 4.5% increase. However 4.10s you would really notice, 15.5% increase in torque to the rear wheels. I'm happy with it as is. Mark Jorgensen said you lose cruise control with 4.10s.

In Texas with some posted speed limits north of 70mph. I just don't think id want the car running any higher rpm on longer trips. I came out of a 14 Shelby GT500 it would pull to 60mph in 1st. Made stop light racing a blast. Never have to shift.
Once the PCM is in more hands. We may find that gives the car the extra down low oomph your looking for.

I have autoxed several times with stock gears. In my opinion, they are perfect. You can stay in 1st gear the whole course.
Drag racing is different, no diff change is going to fix the long 1st gear. To get a good 60 you have to slip the clutch and it does not like that.
