So, over the winter, which I would like to forget.... I added some interior lights and had "Bullit " spray liner, applied to my aluminum trailer. Just thought I would see if I could post some pictures. If it works I would like to thank Rob yet again.
Cheers Shaun.

You and Moparboy need to get together on his steam locomotive restoration project after he gets through re-engineering his 1200 hp Dodge diesel truck. You both do great work and have way too much time on your hands!!!

Can you share where you got that trailer? I've never seen anything like that. I had convinced myself that an open trailer was right for me but that might be the perfect compromise I was looking for.
Thanks!

He custom built the whole top himself. Modeled it in foam and then made it in fiberglass. Pretty damn impressive huh?

It's amazing is what it is.
Here's a comparison: I got a telescope about 3 years ago. Someone told me to buy a really nice small scope instead of a large score because I'd use it more. I shrugged it off and bought a medium/large size scope because it would give a better image. The problem is the larger the scope the longer the setup time. Bigger = it weighs more and is a PITA to maneuver. So in the end I now have a nice scope that I rarely use. But if I had a small scope I'm sure I'd use it more.
This looks like a great compromise for trailers. He's could market his design, I bet it would sell!

Thanks Guys, Its been a fun project. Made a lot of mistakes, but learned a lot. I've just got one more thing to add to the trailer, once I've figured out how to do it and were to get one, is a remote opener. Then onto building passenger cars for Robs steam train LOL. Oh looking forward to catching up with some of you guys at TOD.
Cheers Shaun.

Build it, I bet you could sell a lot of them.. Especially if you had a Kit for attaching to an existing trailer...

That is really awesome and the best Viper trailer I have ever seen. I would buy one right now if available. How much was it to complete this? How much clearance around the car when top is down and does it have to be perfectly driven on the trailer to be aligned right with the cover?

Unreal workmanship. I don't even own a SSG ACR but I'd buy this from you in a heartbeat if you ever sold it or started making these. Just awesome!

What does the modification add to the weight of the trailer unit ? Looks cool, BUT most people want an open trailer for 3 reasons, price, ease to load/unload, towing weight and not needing a large tow vehicle...(that is why anyone that can afford one buys the aluminum open trailers)....also what protects the new body from stress cracks as the trailer flexes on the road...also once the body is added, hard to tow any other make car on the trailer, there is a guy out west that makes tubing and a canvas total cover for an open trailer, has zippers in spots on the side to enter the car on the trailer, I think these are about $2K......My $.02

Sorry I am so late getting back to answer some questions. Thanks SeaSnake for the link. There is 7 - 9 inches of space between the car and cap. As for cost it, was a lot more than I thought... if I counted my time. I dare say I could have put a sizable down payment on a Gen 5. The cap weighs approx. 800 lbs. The cap has aluminum tubing embedded into the fibre glass sides to stop any flex or stress cracks. I built this for my own car. Having said that, any unmodified Viper and Corvette will fit. As for selling, I have been approached by many car owners, to make one for them, so I may attempt to make a more generic one. As I told a Corvette owner friend, it probably wouldn't look good for a 'Vette to come out from under a Viper!! Oh, and if you wish to enclose your Viper in a zip-lock baggie, go ahead! Just my $0.02.

LOL @ zip-lock comment!
Glad to see some new pics of the trailer Shaun! As I've mentioned before, both it and the car looked amazing at Speed Sport!
