I'm also a fan of the stable. I recently picked up an '18 Jeep GC SRT and love, love, love it. May have to rotate into a TH in a few months. I really can't imagine it getting any better, but an additional 200hp must be insane!

We ran a road in California when our Colorado club went on a 2 week trip that took us through there on our way back from Victoria, Canada. I think we were coming out of one of the Redwood Forests. It might have been Route 1 but it has been a few years so my memory is a little fuzzy. In any event that road was like the Tail of the Dragon but the guy that decided on the speed limits must have owned a Viper. Speed limits were pretty consistently 50 mph or better. Insane. Quite honestly it was tough to keep to the limit around some of those curves especially when you've never been on the road before. Maybe someone from CA could chime in and confirm the road of which I speak.

I was at a gas station some weeks ago and a lady approached me saying that if I would drive to the other tend of the lot her son would enjoy it. I did and got there and the little guy was excited as you can ever imagine being. He looked it all over so I told him to jump in. :)

The car was dirty, dusty, had water/dust spots, grass in the passenger floor from golf shoes but he didn't care. It's about my favorite picture to date. :) The kid was about ten and all he wanted to do was use his mom's phone to send his brother a picture and he was going to call him.

He will definitely be a gear head!

Love these stories. Thank you for doing that. I also enjoy using the car to put smiles on the little ones' faces. Whenever I see them oogling out of the side window, or staring in a parking lot, I always make sure to do something that makes their day (I hope). Frankly, the smiles on their faces bring me far more joy than the car itself :)

I was a bit uncertain about the silver stripes. I had two Gen2's with white stripes and loved the loud contrast with it. Silver just didn't have that contrast like white. However after seeing the car in person (bought sight unseen) it was a great choice and glad I did it. The stripes are classy but eye catching in person. After spending some time driving and cleaning it up. I'm in love with it. It's really the red that sets the car off. The car has so much reflection and depth it gives me a headache! Depending on the light it goes from a deep cherry red to an eye searing, can't look at it too long, RED. The car's name is RaF (Red as Fuck).

The car is for sure a rockstar. I drive it as much as possible and with every drive and fillip I'm always asked about it. I let people jump in and get pics. I try to be a good Viper ambassador as people have NO idea about these car. I love it when people are like....that's a DODGE?!!! Oh VVVIIIPPPPEEERRR.


I fell lucky to own this car. Not only is it a hell of a daily driver* (*because only on nice days). It ganders crowds and that's part of the fun.

It is the same car, I was in the right place at the right time I guess. I had been looking for a Viper for awhile but none of the cars currently for sale online peaked my interest. With the exception of the solid Battleship Grey ACR that sold a few weeks ago. I had tried to buy it, but there was another buyer that got to it first. I had been doing a lot of research on these cars and figured I would just call up to Gerry Wood Dodge and ask if they knew of anyone that had a Viper for sale. I spoke with the salesman and he called me back about an hour later and said this one would be for sale, however it was not listed for sale anywhere that I know of. I guess I just called at the right time. He sent me pics and I told him I wanted to come see the car in person before making a decision. So the girlfriend and I drove from Texas to North Carolina about 10 days later to go see the car. All I can say is....the pictures do not do this car justice. We looked the car over for about 20-30 minutes and then went to have breakfast. I knew I wanted to the car when I saw it pull up, but I wanted to think about it over breakfast and be sure I was making the right decision as this is a lot of $$$ to part with. I decided it was the car for me and then proceeded with the purchase. My plan is to preserve the car for years to come and keep it in as new condition. After talking with the seller at length about this car, there is a lot of history. I will preserve this one. I think these cars will continue to climb in value and will become harder and harder to find in the future, especially in this condition. The heritage blue and epic orange colors look amazing on this car.

I got it painted.

The tail lights are also painted to make them "squint" a bit. That part was like that when I got it. Previous owner had a very high end (exotics only type place) and looks like h had some fun with it. I was afraid it was because of a reck, but the bumpers are all definitely 100% original. They have the 2013 dates hand written inside them.

I really like that painted tail light detail. The more I look at it the more I want it. I all most hate to look at things like this. The next thing I know I have a bill from the paint shop for $1,500 and if I don't point it out no one will even see it.lol

Remove the tail lights, tape them off and use plasti-dip. See if you like it. Should be easy with a gloss black.

Truth be told, I really miss the wing. I love this look, but man I miss the wing. I love the hooligan factor.
It always looks out of place in pictures, but in person, it doesn't look so oversized and fit the car.

I went to meet a colleage for a drink. I parked, got out, and tied my shoe laces. On the other side of the car, a kid (can't see me, I'm bent down tying my laces) says to his buddy "oh my God, that's a viper!" They keep walking, see me, and scamper off.
I kind of wish they didn't. I would have loved to let them sit in it and check it out.

It should also be noted that this is the most affluent shopping center of the most affluent part of the city, and that parking lot is littered with awesome cars. For DFW folks, it was Highland Park Village.

Owning one of these cars is priceless.

I recently took mine on a 4th or 5th date. She met me there, can't remember why. When I walked her to her car, she asked me where my car was, and it was right behind hers (I really didn't remember or even know what she drove, pure coincidence). I swear, it was like she was seduced by it or something. Unprovoked, she walked up to it, asked me to sit in it and then asked me to take her for a ride. This girl is anything but a car person or even the kind of girl you'd expect to give a crap about cars. I've known her for 15 years (we went to grad school together). She's the kind of girl to roll her eyes at cars and say "boys will be boys."

So we went for a ride. She simultaneously loved and hated it, lol.

She had been over at least twice before. I guess she just never went in the garage. She lives like 15 min east of the city and I live at the eastern edge of the city. When we go out, she comes over to my place and we leave from here. We also just walk or Uber.
I've known her for a while, so it's not as big of a deal, but in general, I try not do anything flashy (watch, car, etc.) on the first few dates. Not even because of "I want to see if they like me before they see I have money" type thing. It just feels exceptionally tacky.

Exact same experience here. The Viper attracts old guys and young dudes. The ladies think its a corvette.

For the ladies, get a Porsche. At a glance they know its a Porsche and they immediately regard it as a sign of prestige and $$$.
Owning a Porsche has been like "opposite world" compared to the Viper.

Hahahahha! What a shame though. It’s the best era ever to be a car fan and kids don’t care about cars at all like we used to. I was talking to one of my friends and one of the reasons I am happy I don’t have kids is because I don’t think I’d be able to relate to them. There isn’t much father son type stuff that kids kind interesting these days. Cars, building stuff, firearms, playing outside lol. At least not the kind of kid stuff I was into.

Maybe I can troll them instead.
