DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VIPER ON I86!!!! The stretch of road between Olean and Jamestown is completely destroyed. I used to live in that area and people blow tires/smash suspension all the time on the road. It has a large part to do with the Indians in the area and NYS is punishing them by not repairing the stretch of road thus hurting their casino business.

On rt 86 you have two choices between Allegany and Salamanca use
rt 417 to 219 then back on 86 or just slow down.

Randall Arnold, has said they will be making a stop in Toledo. So I'm planning on heading out Thursday, and stay overnight at the Courtyard Toledo Rossford/Perrysburg. I'm not sure if Randall is going to put together a block of rooms on Toledo, but I just booked something to be safe. The caravan is leaving Dayton at 6:30am, so they should be in Toledo about 8:30am.

I was playing around with an app last night called "Zello". It's like a walkie talkie / netxel direct connect that works on iPhone, android, blackberry, and PC platforms. it's free and we can setup private channels with a password. Only thing is if you don't have an unlimited data plan you'll have to keep that in mind.

We're trying to put together caravan details for our region and should have some posted this weekend. The WV/PA region has invited us to hook up with their big caravan in PA. They would like to meet up with us in Pocono on Rte 80 early Thursday morning. I'm in for that. I'll have an idea of who is driving from NY/CT this weekend. This is going to be a run trip.

Tony So far we are meeting at the McDonalds at the intersection of Route 80 and Northeast Extension (Route 476) at 8:30 and leaving at 9am sharp. This is exit 277 on Route 80 in the Pocono's. We will have lunch in Clarion which is exit 62 on Route 80. This is about 210 miles. I am working with Janey from the Ohio Club to get a block of rooms along Route 80 between Cleveland and Toledo. We will then drive to Toledo to meet the caravan. I am working right now with Janey on the details. We 19 members going to homecoming. We have 11 cars meeting at the Pocono location to drive out on July 17, 2014. I have asked Janey for a block of 20 rooms. We need 15 rooms plus one member from Ohio may stay with us leaving 4 rooms. If you guys want to join us I can add rooms but now is the time to let me know. We have been finding a lot of booked hotels along Route 80 during that night.

No updates yet. Actually, I can use help getting this organized. I do have a list of NY/CT members that have registered for the homecoming. Tomorrow I will send out an email to those folks asking if they intend to caravan to Detroit. 22 members in NY/CT are going to the homecoming. We'll find out how many are driving.

Ideally, I'd like to leave the morning of 7/17 and meet up with the WV/PA crew in Pocono. We'll be driving through there anyway. The more the merrier.

Hey Dagwood, I was trying to plan my route and every time I entered the Mcdonalds it kept making me go some long way. If you use the Wawa, Pennsylvania 940, Kidder, PA 18661, Which is right across the street it cuts 25 minutes from the trip.

Just a little info. I received the email regarding picking up the credentials and didn't see anything for us. So I responded back asking, and was told they will have a pickup at the Michigan welcome center but needed to know if thats where I wanted them to be sent.

Grave Digger, That would work for me. I have a Galaxy 4 that actually tethers with my new double din nav / stereo. We plan to leave about the same time, so by the time you hit 80 we should be very close and can meet up and grab cup of coffee while defiantly are getting gas!!

The good thing about using smart phones is connecting with people outside the range of the 2 way radio. We can see who is on it, make moderators, mute people and block users.

Does anyone have a extra helmet they would like to sell? I thought I had a helmet but is a M 2005 which seems like a special application but not a SA. Does anyone know if there will be any vendors there selling helmets?
