Just a quick question for anyone who knows... Is it simply a matter of parking on a level surface, removing the 8 bolts then lifting it off? No concerns with anything being under tension or alignment when reattaching?
Thanks!

Yep that's it, just don't drive with it off and you will be fine.

What's the torque spec for reinstalling it? Being that it's structural I don't want to use my German torque wrench, goodentight.

Actual spec is 15 ft pounds

I replaced the bolts with 12 pts black oxide bolts - imo it looks much better.

I like that idea! Do you know the exact size?

What happens when you drive without it?

That's the obvious answer. But what else? Do unicorns come out from under the hood or anything?
Because if so....

Yes I told my daughter the letters TA are a rare latin subset meant to describe spontanious unicorn birth. She's one, so you know she just kind of smiles and wants more food.

At the factory we use metric torque measurements. we torque them to 20 nm that's newton meters
When installing the X-brace be sure the HAND start all 8 bolts. We tighten the passenger rear, drivers rear, drivers front, then passenger front bolts.
The front bolts do have to go through the X-brace and fender support then into the frame. So be sure all that lines up.

Great info Viper_Builder; I'll certainly follow your instructions when I do this. Thanks!

I hear that weight transfer and engine torque will combine to allow you to pop wheelies at will.....all Fast and Furious style!

The black oxide bolts are:
ARP 134-1002 - verify quantity
Size is M8 x 25 (1.25 thread)
These are a flange type bolt heads. I also added black oxide washers under the bolt so that it did not scratch the painted brace. You will have a hard time finding M8 black oxide washers, I believe the reason is, 3/16" washers are almost identical to the 8 mm washer.

Thanks Jack :)

Is the torque the same on the carbon fiber brace?

That looks so awesome! Great Mod.. I'm still saving for mine. Also thinking about getting the 12 pt's or some allen heads for bolt's.

12pt or torx.
Just ensure it is an equivalent grade bolt.
I was a little surprised that it was an open channel design and not completely wrapped around a composite structure.
Jetstar/Wayne @ ExtremeSupercars is also mfg. a cf brace that should be a bit stronger than the Mopar piece.
