Hey everyone,

2008 viper coupe

Replacing the wheels on the car to a gloss black variant - Ideally dont want to reuse the old sensors as they have a silver stem and it would clash with the new rims. Anyone have recommedations? My general take away was a generic 433hz sensor should be okay as long as its cloned from the orginal?

On my 2003, I cloned mine with Autel sensors:

I was able to clone them with to old tires still mounted.

That's pretty much it...any blank 433 MHz sensor that gives you the ability to assign the codes manually should work.

Dan Lesser at Viper Specialty Performance offers this as a service - you give him the codes, and he sends you already programmed sensors.

Otherwise, you just have to source sensors and a scanner that will allow you to program them. Autel is one of the more ubiquitous brands out there that should allow you to do this with their all-in-one sensors.

I've done it with Alligator sensors, but the programming pad is no longer readily available, so that's not really much of a DIY option anymore.

Nothing that a little paint can't fix.

The rubber ones are black, but typically have a lower MPH rating.
