View Full Version : Oil life remaining reset

I can only imagine the answer to my question is in here somewhere, but I must not be wording my search correctly as no relevant threads appear.

I changed the oil on my 2017 Viper today. My uconnect app is showing that I have 47% oil life remaining. I would like to reset this.

I do not see instructions in the owners manual. I have searched through the menus both on the instrument cluster and the media/navigation screen.

I have looked it up online and YouTube. There, they say to turn the car to run, depress the accelerator pedal 3 times within 10 seconds and then turn it back off.

This does not work for me. The instructions online are shown on 2013/2014 Vipers. Had the process been changed for my 2017?

I do not have my oil change required message popping up as the car still has 47% life left. Is this an issue contributing to why I can’t reset it?

All help from those with 2017 MY Vipers is appreciated.

Thank you!

I wonder if using the dash will work as in Steve's link. My 2018 Ram resets through the steering wheel controls. I've done two charges in my Viper and believe I reset it but don't remember how. Haha

BTW, I am just west of you in Lakeland.

Why mite I find this in my 2013. I have never even heard of it and I have not come across it in the u connect in the car?

Me either.

And I am near Championsgate and haven't seen any Vipers in the region (except for a neighbor with one).

I have an office in Winter Haven that I am closing but still have a warehouse there. There is a nice 96-99 GTS over here, too.
