I'm looking at picking up a Gen IV and it needs a new rear diff.. what's the best place to pick up a replacement? maybe even a gen V with 3.55?

How do you know it needs a new diff?

The current owner has had the diff services twice in the last few hundred miles.. with the correct fluid and friction modifier and if you put it in a figure 8 tight turn both directions you can hear it.. loudly. clutches are done.

I doubt one can find a new oem unit. I would look at aftermarket and rebuild the unit that way. I went w/wavetrack, but there are a few options. Most shops didn’t want to touch my car, because I sourced my own parts. So I would talk/find a shop and talk to them first. The diff is not anything difficult or special, just a Dana rear end, but setting up a diff is more of an art and people get very touchy about parts and quality.

Upgrade to a Wavetrack, better than the OEM diff.
