Hello, just noticed this morning there is huge gap between the window and the exterior "gasket" / molding on my passenger side (see red arrows). Driver's side looks nice and snug but passenger is pretty bad... this is getting me worried .. car wash, etc.
Does anyone know what I am dealing with here? Any recommendations on remedy?
Thanks!

Does the stanchion wobble with the door open? Door open and window down? Is the outer belt line seal loose to the door?

No Sir. No wobble in the stanchion. The window itself does wobble (when half way down) a bit more than the drive’s side. The wobble is more on the front portion of the window. I’ve noticed that the pass window (door) makes a rattling noise when window is half way down and you go over bumps or when you close the door. The driver’s side doesn't seem to rattle like that and window itself does not have as play like pass side.
Belt line is solid. Looked in the slit with the window down. All bolts are there. No wobble or play in the belt ether.

My windows rattle as well when at halfway. That is just a nuance of the Gen 2 Viper. Maybe Gen 1 as well.
Oh never mind. Gen 1s don't have actual windows :lol2:
Anywho the right side outer belt line seal for an '00 is 4763882AE. The internet shows it to be available. You might want to invest in one.
One last test that I can think of tho. With the window up can the glass be pushed out toward the seal? That would of course be due to play in the tracks etc but where I'm headed with this is if the inner trim panel has moved away from the door structure it could be allowing the problem on the outside. There is an inner belt line seal attached to the inner panel and if the inner panel is loose it could be allowing the gap on the outside. The inner panels are also known to warp over time. I would look at all of that. If the inner trim panel looks good then you may be back to the belt line seal replacement.

Hi Dave, I like your joke about Gen 1 windows, LOL! Tried shaking the inner panel, tried pushing it towards the outside, found single bolt by the handle to be few turns loose. Tightened it back up, the panel is more solid but no change to the gap or the window. Just ordered the belt, thank you for the part number. I for some reason struggle with all mopar sites, some of them show no availability for 2000 model but show availability for 2001 and 2002 however as soon as you enter VIN # the site says doesn't fit. went to local dodge dealer they confirmed the part to fit 2000 (I was hoping they have it on hand but no luck). Looked on the side of the door and there are two screwed with slots in the door for adjustment, I am guessing that's the window railing system. For now I don't want to touch it, might screw up something that isn't broken.
Once the belt comes in I will take the door apart and take a peak inside, if that is indeed the belt that is causing the problem I'll change it while I'm in it.... if it is not the belt, well, we'll regroup and go from there.
Thanks for helping me out here man... again ... like you always do!

RESOLVED - Update to the gasket (window belt) gap issue. Replaced the belt strip with a new one, night and day difference. Also, had to move the front of the window guide in a little bit via adjustment screws. The gap looks much MUCH better. Went out to test for any unwanted wind noise.... forgot what I was driving .. that thing is ALL NOISE ALL THE TIME ... :)
Hoping this closure will assist anyone struggling with a similar issue.
Be well!

Guys, I am second guessing myself a bit, can someone get me a picture of their passenger side door (open) where the gasket circled in RED is exposed. I want to make sure I installed it correctly. Mine is a 2000 GTS hoping most of gen 2 (if not all) are identical when it comes to that kind of stuff.
Much appriciated!
