so do you know any real professional companies that sell 3.55? what is the speed difference? and top speed?

I'm not sure if the Viper's Dana Super44 gear set is dimensionally equal to other fitments or not. I do seem to recall reading that the ring gear bolt diameter for the Viper application may be 1/16" larger in diameter than standard.

https://xse.com/leres/bin/gearratio?title=SS+%23670+with+MM6+manual+and+3.73 +gears&rpm=6100&mph=55&gear1=2.66&gear2=1.78&gear3=1.30&gear4=1.00&gear5=0.75&gear6=0.50&reverse=2.90&axle=3.07&diameter=27.15&circumference=85.29&revs=743&tire=wheel&section=345&profile=30&wheel=19

gen 1 & 2 would probably benefit 3.73 or higher so if 3.55 is out of stock....

The later years went up a bolt size diameter on the ring gear. Don't remember what year that was but you will need to know what you have to order the right parts.

Anywho, call Unitrax or Taylor Race Engineering.

Correct the bolt size diameter is different on the viper then other 44s. Can't remember and i have the info on my laptop and will try to look it up sometime later.

Based on the ratios available here: http://www.viperpartsrack.com/ring-and-pinion-gears

I made this Excel sheet (OneDrive link): https://1drv.ms/x/s!AjjcCYuKiLfNgqNc1jVOlccGt2kruw?e=ajITLm

Do me and everyone else a favor; download/save the Excel to your own computer before messing with it. This just ensures that whatever change you make doesn't get saved on the OneDrive version, screwing the next person to use it.

I threw this together fairly rapidly, but it checked out during my once over. If you see a mistake, let me know and I'll correct it.

Once saved on your own computer, all you'll need to do is change the tire size to whatever you are using and everything should auto-populate.
If you want to see a specific gearset ratio because you're doing something custom, all you need to do is change the "FINAL DRIVE:" of one of the tables.
Updating the "Gear Ratio" row in a table will auto-update the table, as well, in case you want to update for a TR6060 or a sequential/auto/etc.

I tried to just attach it to this post, but the site wouldn't allow it; I didn't investigate it too hard.

I believe the 2000 and earlier used 3/8" bolts and the 2001 and later used 7/16" bolts. The carriers are interchangeable between years so long as you have the ring gear and carrier (and bolts) that are all the same size. I swapped in a later carrier and ring gear when I went to 3.55:1 gears.

PartsRack web clearly shows the 3:55 kits on back-order. I called Jon, and he says he will have a few more units next week. Email him your info with a firm order for a 1997 3:55 kit and he will process one for export.
Tell him that Nick sent you!

sorry nick but he made it clear to me that i was not welcome and apparently he doesn't want new customers. I told him that I was disappointed not to be able to work with him and he said to me: goodbye... so I will find my parts for my Vipers elsewhere

Suit yourself! I promise you won't find a supplier that has the connections and desire to get you your parts that's better than Jon.

Well, that's very surprising, JonB has a long history filled with impeccable diplomacy and an instinct for customer service that exceeds the standards of the Ritz-Carlton in Paris...
