Legal limit which in VA is pathetic.

Had a loser cop pull me over to check - it is 50% the VA limit. Such a waste of time.

I stuck with the law when I had my 14 TA windows tinted

Arkansas Tint Laws
Windshield Non-reflective tint is allowed on the top 5 inches of the windshield. (I didn't have anything done on the windshield)
Front Side Windows Must allow more than 25% of light in.
Rear Window Must allow more than 10% of light in.

Just had HP13 charcoal put on sides and rear of our SSG ACR. That 13%. Its dark and illegal. I also had him put a "Sun Visor" on my windshield. Same %. Now awhile back we had him tint our Ram truck, and he did the windshield on it also. Not dark at all. Im not sure on the %. My mind fails sometimes. LOL. The reason I had him do the windshield was 1: Dodge trucks have the largest windshields out of all the trucks so more sun gets in. This will help with the longevity of interior upholstery and fade. 2: It kept the inside of the truck ALOT cooler in the summer. I don't think it would do much as far as cooling on a viper, the windshield isn't that big.

Another reason I went so dark is, now you cant see what is "inside" of the car. IE: video recording equip. GOPRO, glasses, phone etc.

20% on the rear, nothing on the sides or front. I wear sunglasses when I'm driving and don't like looking out tinted windows with them on. I did the rear to a) help hide anything I have laying back there and b) help control the temp inside the car, on hot days the AC couldn't keep up partially because of the heat buildup in the hatch area.

Also I don't see how anyone could tint even the top 5" of our windshield and be able to see out. 5" of our windshield, isn't that like 30% of it? ;) maybe it just feels like its that small.

How did you guys handle the window indexing. Did you somehow disable it before tinting? If not, does any of the window show at the bottom. -thx.

When the door is open, reach down to the Latch mechanism that is in the "door jam" and trip the latch. The door thinks its closed and the glass goes up. The tinter should know this. There are a lot of cars that do it.

I love the tint you did on the ACR I bought from you! It's perfect.

In Indiana you must be able to recognize a person thought it.

(c) A person may not drive a motor vehicle that has a:
(1) windshield;
(2) side wing;
(3) side window that is part of a front door; or
(4) rear back window;
that is covered by or treated with sunscreening material or is tinted to the extent or manufactured in a way that the occupants of the vehicle cannot be easily identified or recognized through that window from outside the vehicle. However, it is a defense if the sunscreening material applied to those windows has a total solar reflectance of visible light of not more than twenty-five percent (25%) as measured on the nonfilm side and light transmittance of at least thirty percent (30%) in the visible light range.
(d) A person may not tint or otherwise cover or treat with sunscreening the parts of a vehicle described in subsection (c) so that operation of the vehicle after the tinting or sunscreening is performed is a violation of subsection (c). However, it is not a violation of this chapter if this work is performed for a person who submits a physician's or optometrist's statement as described in subsection (b) to the person who is to perform the work.
