Electric Door latch failure

2016 Viper SRT, Gen 5, Electric Door latch failure

Problem: After washing the car with soap and water, the following day, the external door handle would not open the driver door.
Solution: Open door panel, reattach water seal, tape over connector below the door handle.

Note: The recall did not apply to my Viper (2016). The recall only applies to 2013, 2014 models, but it was a useful reference for this issue.

UPDATE on this: This worked for a while, however, recently, the electronic door latch module directly below the door handle is now starting to fail intermittently in dry weather. Next step is to replace that module. Also, going to replace the door handle to hopefully get a better seal. Again, will apply tape over the electronic module itself to protect it better should moisture make it into the door.
