I recently had a shop install a BadBoyzz garage flywheel and clutch, with the hub kit(slave and master cylinder too). Well, the clutch is installed and hub bled. But the clutch will not disengage. Tech says clutch needs to wear in. I call BS. You can’t shift between gears unless you rev match. Tech is lost - I’ve reached out to manufacture a couple times but keep getting mailerdeoms. Has anyone installed this kit? Does the throw out need to be shimmed? Is there a way to fit the clutch safety switch into slave?Any information would be greatly appreciated.

You need to talk to Jack B - he's installed quite a few clutches in his Gen 5, including that particular BBG clutch, which also caused problems and ultimately had to be replaced on his dime:

I've installed two aftermarket clutches myself on my own Viper, and I can tell you for certain that what you are experiencing is not right. Both disengaged perfectly right out of the box - one required a shim (Nth Moto carbon triple, which uses the OEM master and slave cylinders), one did not (McLeod RST, also using OEM clutch hydraulics). It's not simply a matter of needing to "wear in"...if it doesn't disengage the first time you actuate it (after bleeding of course), it either wasn't manufactured right, or it wasn't installed right. It sounds like a shim behind the slave might be in order, but you'd need to know the tolerances you are aiming for from the clutch manufacturer before you do that.
While I wouldn't necessarily let the tech off the hook, this sounds like more of a manufacturer issue to me. If they aren't replying, assuming you've tried both email and phone calls, that isn't a good sign.
I wish I had great advice, but at this point, I don't. It needs fixed before you destroy your transmission, so it needs to go up in the air and you need to get the transmission out of there. That would at least allow you to measure the clearance between the throw out bearing and the pressure plate fingers, which is a start.

And FYI, this is the procedure I used to measure the proper shim height for the Nth Moto clutch:

I'm assuming the procedure would be similar for what you have.

I had the same issue. First BBG would not totally disengage, the replacement slipped.

So, are you still running the Bad Boyzz clutch Jack, or did you give up on them?

Sounds to me as if it was not shimmed properly. Likely the wrong number of shims was included with the clutch rather than mechanic error. You need to get that car back to the shop and pull everything out so you can inspect things. That clutch plate won't last long nor will your synchros.

Running NthMoto, if you research threads on Viper clutches, it is one of few that has had minimal issues. The factory clutch is not bad at all for a stock car that will not run drag radials.
I have a complete oem clutch/flywheel if anyone is interested. Does anyone know what it is worth.

I had to use a slave cylinder shim when converting from t56 to tr6060

I've the BBG clutch on a Gen IV. It came to me with the right shims already "installed" .
It was recommended to measure it and there where extra shims if needed.
The clutch is working very well for 6 years now (with a lot of road racing trackways).

I don’t think it was shimmed at all. When I picked it up (on a trailer) the tech handed me a bag with 2 large tapered washers 1 gold 1 black. And 2 little rubber washers - said I don’t know what these go to.

That tech, would not be allowed near my car again.

It is a G5 clutch that I pulled out of my car. Has anyone bought one recently, cost?

You got that right. A clutch not disengaging and needing to "wear in" is the most ridiculous thing I've heard. It probably just needed a generous coat of oil to be applied to all friction surfaces....LOL.

That's literally one of the dumbest things I've ever heard haha

He isn't a mechanic - he's a professional hose changer.
