This vehicle was an epic fail on BaT. It may have been at 50-60% of reserve. This was a very high profile auction for BaT - constantly promoted in emails, Facebook, etc. in the 17 days since it started on June 24th. A tell on BaT is the lack of responses after the auction closed. Either the 2,300 watchers had no comments (that would be odd) or BaT blocked comments because they were overly negative for their liking (but maybe true).
It is well known vehicle with multiple YouTube videos and I think the best being: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kKdJa_rP2gA
Based on commentary Saleen S7's have a notorious reputation for driveability. I am no expert. Know two owners and both have had issues. This S7, as described in the video, has been meticulously sorted at no expense. Also a twin-turbo and Competition Package with 850 horsepower.
All that said, expectations were $1M plus.
On this day, the collector market is saying S7s aren't all that, the market is too high, or something else. Just like the December 2020 BaT 1992 Viper record purchase was the inflection point for the Viper prices, this may be an inflection point. Inflection for what, time will tell...
