View Full Version : The 15k Voucher Club

Watching ACR prices skyrocket made me think about the 15k vouchers us early buyers got and how I used mine instantly to move from one of the red Track Pack cars to my TA. My only regret is that had I held onto it I absolutely would have jumped on one of the GTSRs but at that time used Viper prices were in the tank and it would have cost too much to trade the TA in on one. I still consider myself lucky to still be an original owner of a TA but sure would have liked that GTSR too!
Anyone else use or not use their voucher and how do you feel today about it?

I didn't have a voucher but it was a shame that Dodge didn't make them transferable. I'll bet a lot of people regrettably didn't use them.

I know of a couple people that didn't use them and are even more upset now considering recent Viper prices that they didn't. Like getting kicked in the ass all over again.

I utilized mine at the perfect time. Brought the purchase price of MSRP $142k down to $127k.
The best part is that the department of motor vehicles (after deliberation) agreed to treat the manufacturer rebate as part of the tax credit in association with my transfer registration. A double win!

Gone but not forgotten. When ever has a manufacturer done such a thing?

Funny, I was just thinking about these vouchers since I still have the slip itself in my Viper file (I ran across it while adding some maintenance updates to the file).
I used mine to buy my current 2015 Black SRT. With the 2015 price reduction, the voucher, and dealer discounting; I got out the door in my current Viper for $71k - new with 20 miles! I thought I had done well on my original TrackPack car when I bought it for $89K new, but this was without a doubt the best deal I will ever see on a new car. :)
I am very glad that I used it.

Got the 15k voucher for my early build white ‘13 GTS Track Pack, and wanted to use it, so in Spring 2017 I placed an order for a loaded 1 of 1 GTC ACR E, but they stopped production just before I could get a confirmed VIN, so the voucher never got used.
I was bummed but then realized that the ideal Viper for me would be a TA 2 with the easy to use Street/Track suspension set-up, but none was available at the time. Then in Dec 2017, while on vacation in Cancun, I saw a Canadian ad for a black 2016 1 of 1 GTC TA2 with 2k miles on it, so I jumped on it, got all the bolt-ons installed while the car would stay at the dealer during winter and have been so very happy with this one since !

Yep the voucher was a great bonus to help defray the cost of a new Viper, as long as you forget the actual reason you received it in the first place.
