Ok guys I’ve read a number of threads concerning alarms, newly installed batteries, and re-pairing exsisting fobs. I’ve just discovered my “new to me”1995 viper has an old aftermarket viper alarm in it. I’m not even sure if it was still active. The car behaved as if it had the oem alarm system active, from what I’ve been able to understand. Whichever alarm system is active, it was using what I believe was an aftermarket Viper alarm fob. Is it even possible that this fob could have been programmed to operate the stock oem alarm system? Anyway I do not have the factory fobs , and was looking into purchasing some. Anyone know of a source? If I get them , I read that I would need a dealer to program them. Is this true? Do I need the car at the dealership to do this programming? I’ve found a place to take the car that has many years experience with the old Viper aftermarket alarms, but I’m not sure how familiar they are with the quirks and intricacies of a gen 1viper. Any things to look out for if I have them remove the aftermarket Viper alarm?
