Just my opinion, but 2017 is the Superior year in terms of being collectible, in terms of value since it's the last year made. And those 25th Anniversary badged cars within that year are the keepers.

Oh mama!!! Nice. I was going to guess jdm fzr400rr, but even better to see the little tzr. I rode one at Deals Gap that another rider that I had just met let me make a run up and down the mountain ( I use to have a very solid reputation there going on 15-20yrs ago now), and I about went over the bars when I hit the brakes for the first turn. The entire rest of the run I don't think I ever touched the brakes again

Actually I was in the minority & perhaps the exclusive one whom accurately predicted these values as far as a half decade ago. The naysayers were certainly the majority. Therefore, there is some credibility in my opinion (I didn't state it as a fact)
Just think of how silly it sounds to hear an ACR-E going for less than 200k. Folks didn't feel that way when they debuted.

I'm about 10 years younger than you and most of your bikes are those I grew up lusting after. I remember being in middle school and a few older kids had motorcycles. One bought a red Fazer and soon after a kid pulled in with a purple V-Max. Most others had older bikes but in 1997 I was 16 and a senior pulled in on a brand new green TL1000S.
My oldest "sporty bike" was a 1986 Ninja 1000R. Loved it and for what it was it wasn't too shabby in a straight line but corners were iffy. lol Single piston brakes, the rear tire could give some kickback, and it was heavy.
Love the bikes and wish I had the space, time, and cash to do the same as you. :)

Yeah, this is so sweet. Great for you!
You need the space, and the roads to enjoy them. Living in South Florida, and watching it grow during the past 20 yrs, it is currently no place for a sportbike.
It was one thing to be 20yrs old ripping around on ramps and off ramps with your crew, but once we found the track together, we lost all interest in the crappy streets around here. Plus, at my age now it's way too humid most of the year to gear up and then sit at lights, in traffic, etc.
If I lived in the Carolinas or somewhere else with good riding areas nearby (and decent weather most of the year), then I would love to build a garage/workshop and have a small collection (it would have to be RC30, R7, ZX7RR, a final year NSR/RGV/TZR250 (either one would be fine), and if I could find one a GSXR750RR). For me, that would be the dream setup. But alas, I'm tied to SoFla because of my work, so I have to live vicariously through guys like you :)

I remember when the yzf750r's were Canadian spec bikes that some folks brought in. The OW01 was the real deal superbike, although it turned out to not be tremendously competitive. Suzuki and Homda were basically killing it back then. Mladin, Duhamel, Hayden, we're tough to beat. And of course Kawasaki when they had Scott Russell, were impossible to beat. Such great times before they wrecked the AMA and American road racing.

I have 4 YZF 750s my rarest one is this SP version it’s a Canadian bike . SP version had the flat side race carbs , hotter cams and close ratio gearbox. Only 20 of these were ever exported North America side. Real rare it’s more rare than the OWO1. It still has all the factory warning label stickers on it as close to showroom you can get.

I never had older bikes but I had a 05 Turbo Busa and a 08 Yamaha R6. The busa was bat-shit-crazy as it made a 322whp on Kill. At that time I was about 135lbs I really loved my R6. The wet slipper clutch was a dream. The 14,500 redline was addictive. I just did a couple mild mods like power commander, slip on and intake. It was super snappy and rev'd so fast 5000rpm in a blink.

^^^ Yeah, we're designing a home and Lee has inspired me to put a bit more thought and effort into (a) the garage/shop area; and (b) my office.
For the office, I'm now thinking that it would be awesome to have the space in front of a some large floor-to-ceiling windows (best to make it a door of some sort) to display a bike ala a small museum setup. The office is to the front of the home, and with some targeted up-lighting, it would be neat for people driving by to be able to see whatever bike I rotate into that position every so often. People display Xmas trees, I may display collectible rolling art :)
I've also given some thought to my dream list and it is RC30 (of course), Yam R7, Duc Desmosedicci, and NSR250R. I have some history with all of these bikes, so they are choices based on personal memories.

The problem is that everything else is ridiculous too. So, the appreciation in terms of dollars seems significant, but in terms of purchasing power for other assets, not so much :(
Venezuelans think their stock portfolios have been on a tear for the past decade. Their market, priced in Bolivars, has done nothing but go straight up.
There is this little thing called inflation that is a nasty bitch.

I'd guess two years from now.
Prices on vehicles are so incredibly high right now that the JD Power (NADA) guides on two year old trucks are higher than original MSRP. Not to mention, banks are allowing borrowers to borrow off of the auction selling price, rather than the book values.

We own a bunch of small residential rentals here in Arizona, condos etc and they've all tripled in the last 3-4 years. Stuff we bought for $100K 3 years ago is now $300K. Stuff we paid $200K for is now $500K. Never seen anything like this. And rent prices have more than doubled. What was $800 a month is now $2000

My friend just traded in his 2015 super duty with 130K miles, dents, rough interior, smashed tailgate and they gave him $36K LOL. I thought it was worth $10K
Yep, doesn't surprise me at all. It's insane right now.

That seems to be happening a lot of places. DFW area has been really terrible the last 3-5 years. Even 3 years ago, houses were only on the market for a week or two and were receiving multiple offers. Now it's to the point where realtors are getting dozens of offers on day 1, almost all of them above asking price.

Scott I had a chance to buy this guys R7 for $17k 5 years ago I Fd up big time . Bike was perfect the recall on the crank was done and he had the 3rd injector done as well.

Inflation is part of it. However I think the real estate bubble will burst eventually. It always does. I don't see these machines ever coming down. Last V10 made with a stick? No chance.
Yep this

Yeah, missing that R7 was huge. They have always been, and are obviously now more so, just so hard to find.
Policy, my comment was not that ACR prices are coming down, but rather that any price appreciation is tremendously tempered by the fact that buying power is severely diminishing, right here, right now.
If the cost to build a house has gone from $1m to $2m over the course of 2 years, and everything else has appreciated similarly, are we really any better off that our cars are now worth $80k more than what we paid for them in 2017? The numbers may be off a bit, but you get the idea.
Money is becoming worthless because you need so much more of it to do anything productive with it. And if we're feeling those effects, think about those with far less means -- which means money printing forever -- which means uncontrollable inflation -- which means a death spiral that starts off slowly enough but gets ugly real fast. But I digress.
