Hey guys, name's Mike, I'm 26 and I was referred here by the guys on Viper Alley cause I need some help (please see the regional Arkansas section for my thread). I don't own a Viper yet, but I've been saving for sometime and been very patient, and if the stars align this week, I'm hoping to purchase my dream car, 96 GTS Blue with white stripes. I've never owned anything like this before, I work for GM, and currently drive a new Regal as a DD. I have a turbo'd 95 neon that I can't let go of from high school LOL, and several Liter Bikes, GIXX 1000, etc. Currently I've stepped down to a 600rr because those liter bikes were stupid fast and stupid dangerous.

Even if this car doesn't come through, I'm very dedicated to having one soon I can almost taste it. Look forward to hopefully meeting some of you guys and learning a few things on here, especially looking forward to becoming an owner soon.

If you guys can please check out that thread, I'd appreciate it, thanks!

- Mike

Hi Mike, Welcome.

It might be helpful to talk to the President for MidSouth Region Ed Bowser, you can get his email or phone number from this page. http://driveviper.com/club/regions.php

Also sometimes other club members know of the car's previous owners since we are a fairly small group of owners.

I had several bikes too before stepping into a viper and never looked back. Don't rush the buy, the perfect car will come along when the time is right.

Welcome. Agree, don't rush the buy. Can be easy to do, but enjoy the hunt. It can be a lot of fun!

What details do you have about that Viper? These are great cars...you'll have a lot of fun with it!

Nothing beats an on-site inspection and meeting the owner face-to-face. The plane ticket would be money well spent.

Any idea who's car you are looking at? It might be

some one I know I live just west of Albany.

Welcome, Mike! The 1996 GTS is a beautiful car and is on my list also. We're similar in age, I'm 24 and I bought my first Viper last year when I was 23 after working my butt off and saving for years so I think I know exactly what you're going through. Shoot me a PM sometime if you'd like to talk.

Skeeter, are you free this weekend? Maybe we can meet with him.

Hey Mike: NARRA comes to WATKINS GLEN next month, weekend of May 16-18.

I am 100% confident I can offer you a Viper Ride on track, or a Parade Lap if you have your Viper by then.
