Hi everyone, long time lurker first time poster. Looking to get a Gen V like the title says. The one I’m looking at is posted here https://www.toybarncars.com/used/Dodge/2017-Dodge-Viper-7fac7f140a0e0a171251749a09443460.htm.
There are some aftermarket parts installed which per the website can be returned to stock. The other thing that is obvious from the pictures are the front fender vents. Other cars I’ve seen for sale have the vents painted in matching color. The second odd thing I’ve noticed on the car that is missing is the carpet in the trunk. Maybe part of it was ripped off to make room for the roll bar. Does anyone know if this car has any stories behind it? Any suggestions/tips are welcome and greatly appreciated. Looking to join the Viper family ASAP! Thank you in advance.

Gts-r came with paint matched fender vents and trunk carpet. Looks like the vents were removed for track duty, and the carpet can't be put back in place once the rollbar was installed.

If you're going racing go for it. If it's a collector car you're after I'd go bone stock.

I don't see why the carpet could not be refitted, yes it would have to be cut and taped around the roll bar frame but Could easy be done. But I guess it would add weight LOL

Love it! This thing is pretty hard core with the roll bar and differential cooler, yet not many miles. I see it has the "ACR interior" option listed - doesn't that include the rear carpet (and speakers?) delete?

I have spoken to Greg McDevitt at Toy Barn about another car. Great guy, easy to work with, answered all my questions. If you aren't working with anyone yet, give him a call.

Beautiful! But I am a little biased :)

Gts-r doesn't have the speaker and rear carpet delete.

Since the adhesive strips are still present, I would think that there used to be carpet. Also, it looks like the CCB's have been swapped with traditional rotors.

Yep... CCB’s swapped somebody is going to pissed! If the originals aren’t included

There is another GTS-R for sale on Auto Trader that looks to be bone stock for the same price. I would go that direction if I was in the market for one. Probably less abuse and it has the carbon ceramic brake installed.

I’ve seen them and i’ll give them a call this week to see if they can work with me on the price. Yea with the car being tracked and CBs being removed no one knows how much the car has been abused.

It can't have been tracked much - according to the add, it only has 1014 miles on it. Assuming there was any kind of break-in done, much less the recommended 1500 miles, I doubt it has a lot of track miles. There is an interesting walk around video of the car (number 1 0f 100) on youtube when it was brand new. I sure would like to hear the story on the car - anybody got real info? BTW, the add also says it has the CCBs in a couple of places.

Why would tracking the car before the recommended break in period (1500 miles) be a good thing? I would think swapping out the brakes and installing a roll bar means someone was very serious about tracking it.

or thought they would be but never actually got it on track.. these cars are VERY robust and I wouldn't necessarily say tracking in and of itself is abuse. these cars are designed exactly for that! ITs how the maintenance and care was handled that I would look at as being more important (including documentation).

I wouldn't assume this car ever saw a track, with most miles likely running around doing prep. The nature of the mods indicates that an experienced track rat/enthusiast was preparing the car properly and with knowledge. Terrific opportunity for someone with those same goals over buying a stock car from someone that might not have even known to check his oil level.

I was interested in the car if Meowzee didn't buy it. According to the sales manager, the car is sold pending a deposit. He also said it does have the carbon ceramic rotors.

Thats what David told me as well. Someone put a deposit on the car on April 29th but has not showed up since then, unless things have changed since last Friday.

I have another question. Assuming I do find one I like “BaT” hint hint what should I look for/questions to ask to make sure the car is legit? Any input is greatly appreciated.

There's good info in this thread:
https://driveviper.com/forums/threads/28348-red-2017-ACR-E-on-BAT-low-mile
Post #57 gives a good tip on checking if it is a legit ACR:
Real ACR cars have a "C" as the seventh digit in the VIN.

I know there has been lots of good natured ribbing about this topic. Hell, I've participated in some of it.
But both "C" and "D" coded cars with the ACR package are factory built ACR's.
It's mis-leading to suggest otherwise.
"Real" should be used to differentiate between a car that left the factory as an ACR / Custom GTC ACR
vs a non-factory born "tribute" or "fake" ACR.
Meowzee appears to be asking legit questions and seeking reliable information. Let's provide it.

Well... ladies and gents I don’t know how to say this but HOLY FUCKING SHITBALLS! (Pardon my french). Yesterday I pulled the trigger and bought my first 2017 Viper ACR with Extreme package white with blue stripes with 1100 miles from Ohio from a private seller. The transaction went smooth the car is in mint condition barely driven and the interior still smells like new. I drove it back to indiana about 236ish miles and I am at loss of words. This thing is a beast and commands a presence on the road. I actually slept in the car for 3 hours before my wife came into the garage with her jaw dropped asking me wtf I’m doing and why I’m not coming to bed. I’m beyond ecstatic and happy to join the viper family. I will Thank you everyone for your inputs and I’m sure I’ll have more questions in the coming days. Cheers!

Welcome to the party! Most important: Keep and eagle eye on the oil level at all times! It’s critical and some cars burn through a lot in the first few thousand miles. If you haven’t checked it please do so right away. Then go enjoy it...:)

Sorry everyone, I’m super busy with work and everything. Here are couple quick pics I snapped. Its a 25th anniversary #76 of #100. I’m already researching the forum for exhaust systems and i’m leaning towards belangers hi flow cats and ARH mufflers. Cheers!
