Hey guys!

So I'm considering doing another run of diffusers. Need AT LEAST 10 to make it worth while to cut them. Have sold 20 so far and they went fast. Please respond here and if I get the minimum interest, I'll take deposits and cut another run of them!

They are light, mean, replaceable, made of HPDE, and replaceable!

it will be similarly priced... but that was for the first 10 The more we get the less they will cost. We ate some crow on shipping and design the first round, for sure!

Then you can mark and drill 1/2” to 3/8” hole upward and install the jack nuts. Start with 1/2”
and massage to 3/8” if needed.

I think there is a mistake in your quote of drill size. Massage to 3/8"... 3/8" is smaller than 1/2"

I'm sure you can damage the diffuser by lowering your car too much, driving on crappy roads and bottoming out too much. I live in CA, our roads are GARBAGE and my car is LOW. The strakes evenly dispurse any dragging and absorb energy really well. But i know SOME ONE will always try to prove me wrong.... lol.....

I finished installing my diffuser today and love it. I did have to slot the small holes on the back of the close outs a little more than they were already slotted, but it was no problem. I would also recommend loosening all the belly pan bolts so it can slide around for better alignment until you get both close outs in place.

I ended up just drilling into the plastic factory diffuser. They’re $250 to replace and an easy swap.

I didn’t drill into the aluminum underbody though. It will be fine without them imo. More than fine.

This kit is very impressive quality. It's definitely over built, well measured and fits perfectly. I was pretty concerned because, as someone who has done this for a living in a former life, let me tell you- it is NOT easy to do this without very expensive equipment or the original CAD models. Good hardware too.

I will likely buy Xtreme's carbon stakes just for appearances if I keep it (read below).

The few things I would recommend:

The screws that go through the diffuser: Either make the bolts longer or just use a nut with locktite. They are JUST BARELY long enough and didn't really catch. Or just use a rivet.
If you don't use a rivet gun, remove wheel well liners. Way easier to hold the nut. A small cheap electric screwdriver makes it easer too.

You may not want this if youre lowered AND have side skirts (or or the other and you're fine)

I'll keep it on, but not sure I would do it again if you are lowered and have side skirts. I'm genuinely concerned I wont be able to get it off the lift. I normally drive up on 3" low profile ramps, then jack up the rear, sliding the jack in from behind the rear tire/bumper. Then I slide under 1" blocks to get the quickjacks under. Obviously, I wont be able to use that jack point anymore. Heck, I'm not sure what happens if I get a flat tire.
I'm also very low with side skirts.
I may have to switch to a "fake" diffuser.

And you absolutely don't need to drill into the aluminum. If you're super concerned, use some sort of adhesive you can sand off later like an epoxy or JB weld, but I'm not even doing that. I have absolutely no concerns about the front bit not being screwed in. It has a dozen hard points holding it in on the frame with some bit bolts. I'm just putting silicone or RTV in there so air doesn't get in, but event that is probably pointless.

I use a long-swing, very low profile floor jack that slides nicely between the OEM Extreme diffuser strakes even at track height.
It's tight, but it works. (If you don't already have it, I'd suggest the DSE jack-puck for easy alignment on the jacking point as well.)

Do you know the overall width of the jack? Is it really only 12" including the wheels?

edit: Couldn't find that one in stock but I found something similar (slightly narrower, 11" overall) and a long reach like that one for $325 to my door.

Correct, it is. So far as I've been able to tell, it's an ARP clone (wing) and it mounts higher. Car also came with AP side skirts and splitter so I assume the previous owner got the whole package.

Mine were the same, the strakes were pretty scratched (I thought there maybe a film to peel off but seems not) - so I figured they are going to get pretty beaten up under the car anyways so not to worry too much. I did spend $30 on eBay and bought enough wrap to coat each side in carbon fiber (poor man's carbon fiber) to give them a cleaner look - fingers crossed it holds up. As soon a the season is over I'll be installing them. Still think these are a quality product - will be discussing diffusers when he resurfaces :-)

FINALLY... here we go. Check out the photos, then I'd love some feedback. Please read the blurb after the pics. This isn't finalized yet.

49150

Okay.... so the details. This is HDPE, not textured. The actual unit will be TEXTURED HDPE just like the ACR. The ACR is 1/2" thick. The splitter on my car is .25" and our production version will be 3/8" thick, in between the two. ALSO, not pictured is a removable rub strip. Allens from the top. Also 3/8" thick. This will protect the splitter itself as well as the connection points from wear.

A couple things, gimme some feedback:
Splitter rods are collapsible. This allows for driveway entry without bending them. They will be available like this or with a standard adjustable rod.
Rod angles. Mine were too long so I flipped the mounts but I LOVE the way it looks. I also have 10" rods so they could look normal. I may run mine like this.
The splitter curves with the bumper. I've noticed I don't rub in and out of entry ways at all. Kinda nice!
The production piece will accept a tow hook, and we will retail a custom one, most likely.
Attachment points: MOSTLY OEM. It will attach just like the APR carbon version, and we will supply longer hardware to replace the OEM bolts and be the correct length. I've added 4 supports with 1/2" spacers so my splitter contours rather than be flat. Also, more attachment points for support. I like the look, the extra attachment points will be OPTIONAL when you get your kit. So this will truly be a NO DRILL install if you go that direction, but the extra hardware will be included.

Anyway... thanks for being patient. Please let me know what you think so far and let's get these bad boys coming!

My feedback is to stop taking crooked pictures! hahaha! One dead on a foot or two off the ground would give us a much better idea.

I'd really like 1/2" thick, even if it costs more. If for no other reason, it looks more substantial and not as cheap when it's thicker. However, stiffness increases ^3 with thickness, so that's a big difference there. The 1/2" will be about 2.5x stronger than 0.375
I like the curve, even though it's probably a lot less effective.
I like the "wide" angle.
Collapsible is genius.
Can I get mine carbon wrapped? If not, I'd prefer the gloss rather than textured.

Love the rub strip.

We can do 1/2" but I think it's overkill. A lot. 3/8' is going to be strong, functional, but also allow some flex at the far edges. Plus, the rub strip... so really the front lip will have a combine 3/4" thickness. The rub strip will be 2" deep all throughout, too. So it will provide whatever extra strength the piece itself doesn't.

The issue with the textured is it comes protected. The "gloss/smooth" does not. Sucks.

I wanted the splitter to have some personality, so we added the slight curve to follow the contour of the OEM bumper. I added the OEM ACR splitter pic for reference.

How do the feel about the crossed up struts? I like it, even thought it was intended to be temporary. Looks cool.

I'm very happy someone is taking this project on and thankful for people like you in the Viper community. As far as my feedback is concerned, I would also like for it to be 1/2" thick just because it looks more substantial (like the OEM ACR splitter). I don't hate the curve in the splitter, but I would much more prefer a round front to look like the OEM ACR splitter. And lastly, I like the rods you used, but I would want them to mount the other way. Again, really appreciate you taking this project on!

Gotcha. I'm gonna make it pretty customizable, I think it will be good if each one is the same but can be to the owner's liking. So keep the feedback coming, but I'll be open on "options" for the kit.

The struts will be 10" for traditional mounting and 12" for inverted like mine.

Being the rub strip is 3/8", we will be rolling with 3/8" thickness. The HDPE is in bulk, so this wont be customizable. 3/4" is plenty substantial at the front lip. Anymore seems way overkill.

Thanks!

Guys-

Thanks for the feedback! I'm sure the rubbing on the street can get a bit annoying on the lowered cars. I actually had few people initially request LONGER strakes for the kit. That said, I'm going to shorten the strakes by 1.5" and offer a choice between strakes, or as replacement kits. I'll work on a price for this package over the weekend but feel free to give me some feedback on length.

NOW AVAILABLE!!! ACR-Style Front Splitter for Gen 5 Viper! Initial run of 10 kits. $1500 SHIPPED! Available with collapsing street rods or adjustable track struts. NO DRILLING required and mounts to factory points with supplied (elongated) hardware. 3/8 thick. Also includes replaceable 3/8 rub strip. Rub strip and splitter both laser/water jet cut and made of OEM grade HDPE - high density polyethylene (same as oem acr-e) that is textured. I attached a bunch of pics, and I will be starting a new thread with the Rear diffuser, as well as the splitter together for people who don't want to dig through 7 pages of banter! Enjoy and look out for the new post! FYI 4 kits are sold already, so I have 6 of the initial 10 left! A few of you already specified you wanted one so priority for those 6 will go to those already listed. So if you're on that list, PLEASE message, DM, text me and confirm you're ready to pay! SUPER excited for this. A few things:

There is an option for splitter rods. The one shown below is a 30lbs gas strut that collapses in and out of driveways and entryways. This has been on my car for over two months with no issues. Has NOT popped off or had any issues and acts as it should. THAT SAID, if you plan to track your car I STRONGLY suggest a fixed/adjustable rod. There is no price difference, just specify. I have NO IDEA the speed at which, if any, the gas strut MAY (or may not) fail VS. a fixed piece. So, the collapsible strut should be ordered for STREET CARS obeying SPEED LAWS. My car has been deep in the 130s, but there is no warranty or guarantee expressed or implied should one fail. So choose intelligently, please, based on your driving habits an intent for the car. For peace of mind, the kit is attached to the same 13 points under the car as the oem trays, including 2 frame mounting points. Additionally, a mount at the left and right edge of the bumper (far corner of the kit) and obviously 2 more when you include the front struts as well.

This kit requires NO DRILLING.

The HDPE is textured.

The frame mounts are replicas of the ACR, they will accept tow hook and tow hook adapters on both sides, same as the ACR. We do not sell them as there were too many options already.

Any further questions fire away, please! If you ready them PM, DM, TM or text me ASAP!

Thanks!

An observation. The front splitter pictures shown above differ from the factory ACR splitter in that it appears that this splitter is flat-bottomed. The factory ACR splitter is concaved on both sides and in the center to the rear of the splitter. I think the ACR splitter is concaved to accommodate airflow to the ACR brake ducts and to the engine. ACR brake ducts attach to the bottom of the lower controls directly behind the splitter assembly. I think the factory ACR splitter shape also produces downforce by creating low air pressure.

I'm confused, can you be more specific as to what you mean by the ACR splitter is concaved? Are you referring to the street extension or the track extension?

What I am saying is that the splitter is not flat. Take a good look at one and you will see what I am talking about. Where the splitter mounts to the frame is where it begins to ramp upward into the engine compartment and wheel wells.

After sitting in my garage for about six months I finally got around to installing the rear diffuser. Other than one spot (per side) where an original bolt that connected the OEM diffuser to the rear diff cover didn't align with the close-out, fitment was great. I ended up leaving those 2 bolts off, but will likely come back and drill through the close-out to resolve. Other than that, initial results are awesome.

Hey all! Sorry I'm not here much. Best contacts are email: holler@maddwrapps.com or on Instagram @maddwrapps. I have 10 more just dropped off. 5 are gone. 5 left. Obviously EVERYTHING has seen increases so we are retailing these at $2500 plus $300 to ship. Offering discounts for those buying more than one. Regarding wrapping them: I cant do that before I ship, it doesn't survive shipping well. Find a local shop and I'm sure they would be happy to help. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't respond here or PM me for these, I'm not on much. Just email or DM me on instagram. My shop line is 707-220-3500 in case neither of those options works. Text is best. THANK YOU! OVER 50 kits installed, tracked and tested!!! -Brian
