Hey all,
Curious to see your speaker and subwoofer upgrades you've done to your Gen V. The sound system seems so lacking IMO. Granted its a very loud car, but ive got 3 other cars that have systems in them that over power that exhaust.
Show me your upgrades!

My car had about $10k worth of upgrades. Amps, cross overs, 2 subs, new speakers and custom box and layover. Nice setup. I had everything ripped out other than the upgraded speakers that replaced the stockers. Wish I could give you actual guidance.

I personally think the upgraded factory system is great with the 18 speakers.

I don’t think it’s a speaker issue, there’s just so much noise coming from the engine, exhaust, tires, wind combined with minimal sound deadening compared to other cars that any speakers have no chance. Sitting in my car with the engine off I can crank up the system and it’s great (I have the 18 speaker upgrade). But once the engine is running not so much.

I think there is a lot of truth to this, but would also like to hear of better options if they exist.

It's sounds lacking but it's just a very loud Viper. The 18 speaker system in my launch edition sounded louder than the upgraded version in my ACR. Looking back on that, it was probably because of all of the sound deadening done to the launch edition interior, made the system seem louder. Nonetheless, the 18 speaker system sounds very good.

Agreed with VT. Sound deadening in the doors helps a bit.

Can always look into upgrading the raw drivers from places like https://www.madisoundspeakerstore.com/
6x9s would be an easy swap, as of tweeters or mids, there will be some work involved to close match the size and fabricate brackets.
Impedance, frequency range, depth are among the basics to consider. System is already designed and tuned,
Cannot be changed without going aftermarket amp/sound processor unit.
Our oem drivers are ultra cheap! Almost anything from a reputable brand that sells raw drivers would be an upgrade.
Best yet upgrade is the music source itself! I suggest trying a digital Audio player that plays flac files or mqa’s from a platform such tidal. Also device like audioquest dragonfly (portable dac) through a aux input will significantly improve sound quality. Downside, extra thing laying around in the cup holder and can’t switch songs with steering controls. To my ear, still well worth it!

Is your car from a San Francisco dealer? Tan interior and the shifter bezel is silver?

I bought it from an individual but sounds like it's the same car. Prior owner was a member here. He had the car for 3+ years, and had I think 5 other cars.

I remember seeing a subwoofer in the air compressor area of the trunk. I think that's a great idea but I worry about rattles.
