Hi all - I'm sure this has been a topic before, but what do you recommend to replace the battery in my '14 GTS? Thanks!

I like the Optima yellow tops. But you can always get one from the dealer or whatever your budget allows. Only a couple fit in the space.

What is the smallest battery on the market that can fire up a car reliably? Our batteries are quite small already? I am talking size more than actual weight.

FWIW, I just put a new one in my ‘14 GTS yesterday. I bought EXIDE MXH6L348 (MX-H6/L3/48) from Rock Auto for $148 + shipping. It is an AGM battery and is bigger case than OEM. It fits, albeit at a bit of an odd angle, and the hold downs still work although at odd angle again. I could not find an AGM battery in exact factory size.

In fact, I'm probably due by now (3+ years out) and I see they have one in stock nearby. Think I'll swing by and pick it up. Thanks for reminding me.

I spent the last 10 weeks trying to get my local Batteries Plus store to come up with this battery. They told me every week it was on a truck, on it's way. Finally last week the manager called to tell me there are none in the country. If you're able to get one from your Batteries Plus store, I'm going to have give my guy some shit! I ended up biting the bullet and bought the Maxx Ever Start. Not my first choice, but it fit perfectly and has the same vent connection.

We didnt have any luck with Braille batteries during product development and racing use. Crank amp #s were off, technical data was hard to get or misleading, batteries just didnt hold up and customer service wasn't very good. We switched to anti-gravity batteries for all our racing battery conversion kits and racing battery hold down kits. Anti-gravity makes great lithium ion batteries with features no other mfg has; if your looking to go light weight lithium ion route they are the best choice. You can purchase from us at our store TKOMOTORSPORTS.COM Or you can find them online at amazon or at antigravity site. If you dont want to spend alot and not to concerned about weight the standard off the shelf AGM batteries are just fine. If you go lithium ion just know they require more care then lead acid or AGM.

That's the battery I have and love it. In stock locally, fit perfect, cranks awesome, and a good price.

I avoid lead acid due to acid leakage under high G's. I had my Gen II rear frame and bumper cover repainted under warranty after acid ran down the frame and onto the body paint during a track weekend. They are a little more than lead acid but also seem to last better for me. I have been putting them (AGM) in all my vehicles. The Gen V rear floor material looks like it shouldn't be affected by any acid spillage, but there are electronics back there and the vent line could dump some underneath where I would rather not have it. I may be over cautious on it, but once bitten, twice shy as they say.....

I am needing to replace the battery in my 2017. Any opinions would be appreciated. This is the one I am looking at, it is an AGM.

The factory OEM ACR Battery is a group-v4.

This is the factory bracket for the ACR battery pictured above.

I was not able to locate an AGM option for the group-v4 battery size. Below is a lead-acid version:

You can use the H5 battery form factor, but you'll need to get new battery brackets like the ones for the non-ACR. Item #2 in the image below.

That is small, If 8ah isn't enough duration between charge, you could run 2 in parallel circuit to net 16ah.

No, I use Doug Shelby's now just for more reserve. My smarty cam and aim are hardwired and can suck the battery down a bit when charging.
