View Full Version : What is the best top window combination for the Gen 1
I have had the same top / window combination on my '94 RT/10 since 1995 -- A Mopar factory hard-top and a pair of sliding glass windows made by a company called Northwind Engineering that I purchased in 1995 for $995.
The top does not leak, and the windows are still working fine (though I need to re-adhere the weather-stripping every year). Nevertheless, I've decided after 26 years that perhaps these parts are a bit dated and I can do better.
I appreciate that appearance is subjective, but for a car that is 27 years old, surely there must be some consensus in the forum as to the "best" top/window combination for the Gen 1's that considers both aesthetics and functionality (i.e. looks good, doesn't impede access to either interior door latch, keeps the cockpit dry in a T-storm, etc.).

Autoform is still in biz
V-Mania was great stuff..... out of Biz, but maybe Flea-Bay?

You can get a 3 piece top, they leak though, but makes it more sleek looking and you can carry it in your trunk. Not cheap though. You might want to just stay with your current setup. You will not find one for less than $3K

ONLY way to go is Autoform Group! I had a GEN I , they have great stuff, Steve is a great guy.PM me if you want to see pictures.

Thanks to all who replied. The 3-piece (Lemke?) top has a few reviews claiming leaks, and it sounds like it is also expensive/hard to find, so I think that eliminates it from consideration for me.
I'm going to look into the Autoform top and see which windows work best with that solution. I might also end up sticking with my current Mopar/Northwind combination, but at least I know I explored all possible options.

When I had my gen1, it was against my religious beliefs to drive it in rain. V-Mania top and windows with door poppers were perfect for me. I hold the same religious beliefs for my gen3.

Jay, can we see a picture of your current setup?
You say it's Mopar, might be what I have on mine. Would be helpful to identify it finally by comparing pictures.
