Would consider giving up a Viper for one. Such a badass car. SRT take notice.

Though impressive is the Camaro, you will have to live with the typical styling since its inception a few years back (typical of Chevy) and the performance number are as good if not worst than a Gen 2 or 3 Viper.
On that note, why would you consider this over one of those gens when your getting the same performance yet, your getting exclusive looks and its cheaper.

I would buy a Corvette or GTR before I even began thinking a Camaro.

Each to their own though. But don.t get rid of your Viper for a Camaro. Wait till your sober, than make the decision again.:very_drunk:

Too bad its so heavy and has horrible visibility. Not to mention the price, wtf GM!?! It should have been priced much closer to the Boss 302 Laguna Seca.

I've owned 3 new Camaro SS's. Still own a 2014 1LE SS, which is basically their road-course version of the SS. They are excellent cars for the money, and VERY easy to modify to get real power out of. No, they don't have the exclusivity of a Viper, but that also makes them fun commuter cars that don't attract negative attention at the shopping center or airport parking lot.

I will clarify. I wouldn't give up my ACR for one, and I don't think SRT should take notice as in they should be worried of a Camaro beating the Viper at the track.

Would I rather have this Camaro over some Vipers? Sure why not, I would consider it! And my comment to SRT is rather just, "hey, look what these guys are doing.. it's bad ass!" This car is a true hotrod!

Its $40,000 less than a GTR, $45,000 less than the TA, weighs a bit less than the GTR (yes both are heavy compared to the Viper)

Has great brakes, straight line performance of a Gen 3 Viper and could probably mop one around a track. (hell I would be curious compared to a stock Gen IV, I would probably put money on the Z)

I just appreciate what Chevy has done with this car! Man, what a cool ride.

Though I'm not interested in one, the appeal for me is that I wouldn't feel bad driving a Camaro year round. That's not happening with the Viper. The Camaro isn't trying as hard to actively kill the driver either.

That Z28 is awesome, and would prob wipe the floor with my modded gen 3 around a racetrack, all the while providing more reliability than my gen 3. I think the Z28 will be scaring newer vipers, gt3s, gtrs and z06s at tracks all over the country this summer. Hopefully I run into one. Looks like a very cool ride.

Autoweek has a Z28 vs. Porshe GT3 article this last week. Less than a .5 second spread on lap time with the Porshe besting it. The only reason the P car beat it out was that it was faster in the straights, which is surely saying something about the Z28 in the corners. GM gets big kudos from me for bringing this car to market. It is a hell of a value for the money and is going to bring the Camaro brand a ton of great press for an already good selling car...judging by how many I see every time I leave the house. That is great for a US car builder.
