E Brake Relocation Brackets Gen 5

Hey guys, who has done e-brake relocation brackets on the Gen 5 rear e-brake calipers? You wouldn't have to unless you are running 18's all around. I realized my CCW C12 18x13 are just touching the line for the hand brake and I wanted to relocate. I found various threads on Gen 3-4, but nothing for 5.

I'm not sure they ever made one for the Gen 5.

From a quick search, it looks like most were able to bend the tubing to make it work:

If I recall correctly, some that had the issue just temporarily removed the e-brake altogether.

I wouldn't mind completely removing it if I had a race car, but unfortunately for now, the car will stay street-able and I wanted to re-locate. Bending it is something I was also considering, but didnt want to ruin anything in the process.

Aside from bending, I think you might be on your own.

Having done the relocation on my Gen 4, it is really quite amazing that it worked at all when you think about how they did it. Yeah, you have the brackets themselves, but a big part of it is removing the cables and swapping them left to right and right to left, which just so happens to make them the exact right length and bring them in at a much better angle to clear. And they still work just like they did when stock.

I can't remember how I did mine, it's been so long, but I didn't relocate it. I bent it out of the way.

Well then. Now that Arizona Vipers has spoken, time to grab the hammer lol.

Steve, I didn’t know about the swapping lines left to right, woah, that’s interesting. Here I was thinking I would just swap the end pieces at each corner with new brackets similar to an SS brake line upgrade.

Yeah, it was a bit more involved than I expected too. I referenced Nixon's write-up many times when I was in the middle of it, which shows everything that has to be done, including swapping the cables:

I bent my brackets, but after that the cables were slightly too short which meant the e-brake pads would be touching. You might be able to readjust the cables, but that would be at the e-brake handle and that involves removing the console. I haven't tried that yet, so I just left the cables unhooked at the caliper.
