Three new colors..... The rest is just as stale as 2014

GTS model is dead, either the base gets renamed GTS or they keep the SRT name.

With the GT package, you get the core of the GTS with the SRT. There is no need to keep the GTS around.

How it should have been since day one.

The Viper is naked without ACR clothes on...Period. It is what the Brand stands for. A street legal race car. Bring back the wolf from under the sheep's clothing and stand back and watch with terror.

If there was a 2015MY refresh, wouldn't we have seen spy photos of it already for cold weather testing?

The industry definition of a Refresh is exterior or interior updates or upgrades.

A vert or ACR would be a new model, not a refresh

For Vipers sake, I hope a refresh includes and automatic trans option

Vert! Vert! Vert!

Get back to Vipers Roots!

The GEN V is gonna look drop dead gorgeous topless. :)

I think leave the SRT drop the GTS and allow all the options that come on the GTS to be ordered. Make the base car with leather standard. Then add a convertible model. Turn the TA into ACR.

I am not a vert guy but understand the need for it. With sales being down SRT needs to make a statement with a Hammer and bring out a full blown barely street legal monster to put Viper back on track.

I wonder, if the SRT will become the drop top and the GTS will become the coupe. (Going back to older naming conventions)

Both prices ~$100k

The GT package gets you most current GTS features for both coupe and vert

Hard to believe the GenV will be going into its 3rd year soon! Hope the unsold snakes will be picked up pretty soon, so that SRT can concentrate on the future with ACR and roadster models.

Production has been cut way back due to poor sales. They need to sell 13's before 15's. I think this spring & summer there will be more movement. Lots of new threads from new owners which is good. Hopefully they sell 300-400 units this season.

They should have just labeled all '13s as '14s

Market the Viper!!! I happened upon 5 different people this weekend that didn't even know they had started remaking our beloved snake. But I digress. Bring on the vert!!! I will not trade my coupe in but a vert would help with sales as would marketing.

GM just revealed the Z06 convertible...Viper will lose customers if they don't follow suit with a roadster.

The hardtop of the new zo6 was already a targa or had a removable roof, seems odd to have the convertible too.

I guess in SRT's defense they too have released variants; 4 so far by my count.

Laguna interior in red and black!! I would also love a heads up display. Fog lights? How about bringing the Michelins back. Yes to the Vert! And..... more horsepower is always a plus.

If we are custom ordering cars, why cant we pick any color? And for five grand we should dammed sure be able to at least pick whatever color strips we want.

It needs to be the ACR.

I love the new Viper to death, I think it's the greatest Viper ever by miles, and the greatest American car since the GT, but if they don't have an ACR at least on a stage at an auto show by the time the Z06 hits the streets, Viper as a brand is in serious, serious trouble. The new Z07 Z06 supposedly faster than the ZR1, meaning it's likely going to be faster than the TA too since they're so close, and Corvette has seen the cost of releasing a new car that's slower than your rival's older model. The vert will help sales, and I hope they roll that out too, but if the Z06, which is now targa and convertible, high-speed auto and manual, hits the streets without a new trim from the Viper, I think that's the end of the program.

Corvette has always done this at the lower trim levels.

But the ACR is such a small subset of al vipers ever built. It wouldn't help sales at all.

2/3 of Vipers are Verts, it is the clear path IMHO.

It's the ethos of the brand-an insane track car that can't be beaten. That's why the TA is such a winner as a trim. Yeah, they don't sell a lot of units, but just having that car there as the top car does great things for the rest of the brand in terms of desirability-and the ACR would do the same. That's the point of a Halo car, not to sell units, but to sell the whole brand.

I was just at Trek yesterday. They charge $5,000 for a custom paint job on a bicycle frame.

"sapphire" Bob, partially agree that a change in the roof would be good BUT I think make it a targa roof, and have the panels (yes, two carbon fiber with glass panels) that would store in the back, ALSO I think the next thing needed is a "heads up" display that also has several modes you can switch between, have a road version, push the button and the windshield shows the "track mode" able to see RPMs, etc...right in the windshield, never have to look at the dashboard when racing...maybe also add distance sensors in the front facia ( this I don't feel as strong about) as the heads-up windshield display !! My $.02

I guarantee that the 2015 Viper will get similar headlights to the 2015 Charger, and challenger just unveiled at the New York auto show. I think it will make the viper look better.

Any more info on what will be in store for the 2015 Viper? The "interesting" development at the 2014 NY Auto Show referred to in another thread turned out to be a new limited paint color.

We are almost into the 2015 model year... .

Specifically, any information on whether there will be significantly more (40+ hp more) factory HP on the 2015 Viper over the 2014 Viper? I realize/hope there are Vert and ACR announcements, but such news would not necessarily mean more hp.

Thanks!

I'd think we should know very soon, right? Considering the time of year now. I'm still hoping but seems like if there were any significant news they'd have used NYIAS as a marketing opportunity to broadcast some cool news .. of course the marketing team is the only weak link so who knows, maybe something interesting is going to be announced but shhh, quietly, shh. lol

I bought a 2014 GTS and LOVE it. That being said, it seems that the TA models are most sought after. The Viper community wants flat out performance. For that reason, I think that the ACR should be what SRT produces to kick things up a notch. As far as an automatic transmission goes.....WHAAATTTT????? We should NEVER go there.

Don't want to get into a Gen 5 debate, their great cars, but that's what potential customers new to viper want. Ask Ralph the number 1 request he gets, it isn't more hp, computer, etc. Viper needs a pdk like trans option if its going to sell more than 500 units per year.

Viper Homecoming people. That's where the news will be, I'd wager.
I'm guessing this will be an SRT summer... 2 new SRT challys, 2 new Chargers, HOPEFULLY some love for the Viper.

If he listens to those people asking for PDK, the Viper will undoubtedly cost more and thus the same scenario will happen again as it did with the Gen V. Those same people will not buy one and the car will be waaay out of reach to the real buyers. He listened in 2011,2012 and put amenities that most asked for and it got them where?
Since the price drop in the last month, it looks like some cars are starting to find new owners from those people on the fence finally.

keep the price down, give the customer the power to choose their own options and stay within the competition in respect to 0-60 and quarter times by adding some HP, lightening up the car or maybe even adding a puffer, bring out a Vert or any combination of one or more of those, and you will see this car fly off the shelves and convert some of the competition over to Viper once again at it did years ago.

Just my .02 cents CND or .01 cent US

At most a convertible... But given SRT's recent track record, it will be a new color... Like "The Black Ice edition! Made especially from a cold dark paint! Built to ROCK your eyeballs!"

Whatever they do, do it soon so I can buy one to used in 5-6 years to compliment my 02 gts. Id be ok without the convertible if they added a bit more power. It doesn't need power but it would help bring other buyers in. They already spend a ton of money fortifying the bottom ends so we can modify them. Why not just release the 700 hp viper and a 739ps acr addition to not step on big brothers (f12) toes.
