Maybe FCA forgot what happened to ATLANTIS?

Agree Jon, why they did not just stick with the Latin Root, Stello is confusing to me. Who needs a long name to remember for a car, but then supposedly this is just at a Corporate Level, so Jeep will be Jeep, Dodge will be Dodge, etc., but ...................like you I tend to think of Atlantis , or Praying Mantis , guess they were all high on Cannabis!!!

Funny I remember the marketing guys telling us a while back they like simple 1 or 2 syllable names that have good cut through that roll off your tongue.......
Like Cobra , Viper, Charger .........

Agree, Jon. Stellantis is an incredibly dumb name. It's difficult to spell and going to be horribly mispronounced constantly.

I can't wait to see the logo. I hope they do a badge like the old Ferrari badges.

It's those French guys that came up with it.

I don't think the name is going to be attached any vehicle but still. That's, thats just terrible sounding.

Like Moland Springs water. Points for whoever knows that immediately.

Very true. Stellantis is a really poor name. Whoever came up with it is an idiot when it comes to marketing. Look at literally all manufacturers and they have 1-2 syllables:

Aston Martin, Audi, Bentley, BMW (one syllable three times), Buick, Chrysler, Dodge, Fiat, Ford, GM, GMC (one syllable three times), Honda, Hyundai, Jaguar, Jeep, Kia, Land Rover, Lexus, Lincoln, Lotus, Mazda, Mini, Nissan, Porsche, Ram, Rolls Royce, Smart, Tesla, Volvo

If your name is Bugatti, Lamborghini, Ferrari, etc, you are allowed as many syllables as you want!! If you're new to the game and aren't someone's last name, pick something easy and memorable.

Anyway, who cares? I don't own the company and couldn't care what happens to them anymore. There was a time that I would defend Chrysler, et al, to anyone. But that time has passed and that ship has sailed.

For what it’s worth, my wife claims the Viper has the same effect as the aforementioned medications (poor girl, as though it’s needed)

Introducing Stellantis. Talk to your doctor before using Stellantis as side effects may include model redundancy, the overwhelming urge to apply Dodge badges to Peugeot crossovers, and weak stream. Strange. As I too still go to Pine Knob.

Dear Quickster,

I get an " itch" to drive my Viper quite often , and it is unbearable. Will Stellantis help me get over this or should I just sit in the driver's seat with a glass of wine and wait for the rain to stop??

Wine never hurts -- lots of resveratrol. No comment on the other topics you broached. Ha!

As long as I keep getting at check at the beginning of each month I'm good with any name!

Psychologists Worldwide fear the fact that the new PSA/FSA merger is under water, since the last part of the name sounds similar to Atlantis , and the first part of the name reminds one of " On the Waterfront " with Marlon Brando yelling repeatedly , " Stella, Stella!"

Rumors are it will be changed as the obvious Aquarian references have two boat companies and Carnival Cruise Lines fighting over the name for new high speed models and a cruise ship line , respectively.

The one benefit consumers thought they were getting has been denied , as Stella Artois will not be giving away a 6 pack with every new vehicle purchase of the new Automobile entity.

Weak stream........Cracking up......

Yeah, the brand has only been around for I don't know.....100 years.

Just another corporate move that will be gone soon......

From Automotive News this morning, looks like most if not all of the FCA Leadership will remain in their current (or expanded) roles.

Executives from PSA Group make up a majority of the leadership team of Stellantis under CEO Carlos Tavares, though Fiat Chrysler Automobiles' Mike Manley and Mark Stewart will remain in charge of the company's North American business.

Mark Stewart will remain COO of the North American region under Manley, the former FCA CEO who is now head of the Americas.

FCA CFO Richard Palmer will be Stellantis' top finance officer.

FCA’s Chief Marketing Officer Olivier Francois will remain in that role for Stellantis, in addition to heading the Fiat and Abarth brands.

Stellantis will have two design chiefs: FCA's Ralph Gilles for Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram and Maserati, while PSA's Jean-Pierre Ploue will oversee Abarth, Alfa Romeo, Citroen, DS, Lancia, Opel, Peugeot and Vauxhall. The Fiat brand will be split between them by region.

Tim Kuniskis will run Chrysler and Dodge. Mike Koval will continue as head of Ram, and Christian Meunier will remain in charge of Jeep globally. Jean-Philippe Imparato, who was CEO of PSA's Peugeot brand, is now head of Alfa Romeo.

"As a car veteran working in this industry for 40 years now, I feel very good about this team," Tavares told Automotive News. "I think we have strong characters, a great deal of talent and expertise, passionate people, people that understand that Stellantis is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity."

You really have to wonder about people in marketing! Did Dodge Chrysler use the same company that marketed the Gen V Viper?

The Name is a complete joke, I have no idea how you pronounce it?

This might be like google/alphabet; the actual stellantis name may not be used for a car/brand. Time will tell...

Yeah there was billions in cash before Daimler then after they "merged" all the cash just disappeared. Don't forget who was the one that sold Chrysler to start the downhill snow ball. Bob Eaton.
