Got this car almost a year now but it's finally bothering me enough to look a little deeper into it, but it seems the driver's side seatbelt is turned the wrong way due to an issue with the L bracket being sewn into it improperly. So maybe an issue from the factory. And it's not like I can just remove the torx bolt and turn it because then the L bracket won't sit flush with the door sill. I think the seatbelt is supposed to turn inward, not outward. It creates a twist at the hips.

Anybody else ran into this problem on a Gen V? I was planning on getting the assembly off the car and sending it in to seatbelt planet to get it re-webbed in yellow. Wondering if they'll rotate the L bracket too...

Here are some pics...

Are you sure it's not twisted further up back behind the carpet?

Directly behind the belts upper carpet opening it's just a metal ring / guide that belt runs through and down about 10" to the actual belt rectractor...

Thanks for the suggestion. I’ve pulled the seat belt all the way out and it doesn’t seem to be twisted back there but I’ll definitely take down the carpet and see this weekend.

It’s very easy to remove the seat belt in order to fix the twist.

Unless the twist is behind the carpeting like kriskyk mentioned, there's no way to fix it. If I remove the Torx bolt at the door sill and flip the seat belt, the metal L bracket won't sit flush anymore.

I will take the carpeting off tomorrow and see.

If i understand the issue correctly there is an easy fix. Simply fold the belt at an angle and pull the seat belt end over the folded belt. It will slide over the double thick folded belt and will re-orient to the correct position.

The belt has just twisted in the buckle. I FK mine up about once a year, has something to do with the way I put my belt on...l0l

Mine was twisted also on my 2016. I tried folding it and it didn’t help. Took it in to the dealer and they fixed it under warranty.
