Need to replace my radiator. Does anyone have a new condition stock gen 2 radiator they want to sell? Its for my 1997 gts.

Yes I have. I had a Ron Davis aluminum in it for several years then I had a little mishap. The Ron Davis got wasted now I'm getting everything back together and I went to put the stock radiator back in and it leaks. I just hate to spend $700.00 + right now for after market. Just wanting to get by for less if I can.

smart move on sticking with stock. if it is a used one, just bring it to a radiator shop and have them go thru it.

Reputable shop ought to be able have good as new for about $150 max.

Here in the UK you can get radiators rebuilt with a new central core, normally much cheaper than a new radiator, Have you searched any company's near you that do this kind of work?

I had my stock radiator recored and it works great.

I had my stock 1993 radiator recorded by a radiator shop in Portland, OR for $100+ and it works great. Suggest you pull the radiator and take it to them. On Gen 1 you have to pull the front fascia to get the radiator out. Gen 2 is probably the same. I wouldn't want the radiator shop messing with my bodywork.

Thanks for all feed back. I'm headed for a local radiator shop with the old stock radiator to see if it can be repaired. I thought it was junk but maybe not.

The stock radiator sitting in the garage for 6 years turns out to be a $180.00 fix. Pick it up next week.

You do not have to pull the fascia on a GENII to get the radiator out. Relatively easy job actually.

Like others have said, unless you are aggressively tracking the car, have a local shop do a rebuild. I just finished this up on my 97, turned out great in the end.

Well, it's easier if you pull the hood of the car. Much better access. If the stock one doesn't cool enough, I have a new aluminum one, never used.

Had to pull mine out 3 separate times (DONT ASK :furious: ), never removed the hood. But I have been told it can depend on each car and its ease of removal.

same here. last spring. got pretty good at it unfortunately. the hardest part doing by self, is "shimmying" it between the hood springs

Well I must be Jinxed. I have just been informed that my aluminum Fluidyne has a Leak. Can a radiator shop fix this or am I sol?

Also the water pump has a drip now. Geez...

Seems I've heard some aftermarket ones were notorious for problems. I suppose it time to change water pump and gaskets too. might as well do timing chain cover gasket as well if not already been done. at least it not in middle of driving season....:stickmen_burningsti
