So I have my engine apart and was getting ready to order ARP rod bolts and was figuring out how to remove the factory ones and noticed they have ARP stamped on them. Were gen 2 factory rod bolts manufactured by ARP or has someone been in this engine before? Its a 2001 creampuff motor for reference.

That's news to me.

Never seen those on a Gen 2

2003-2017 Vipers come with ARP rod bolts.

Interesting and peculiar. All I can assume is someone saw some wear on the rod bearings, replaced them the hard way and did rod bolts at the same time. It might also explain a few of the tiny nicks on the rod journals from someone hastily removing or installing the rods. Got to love undocumented work that occurred under previous ownership!

Since they are in there already do any of you happen to know if the torque spec is different from the factory number? Most ARP hardware seems to specify a torque with their special moly lube.

This is crazy because I rebuilt my engine last year and it had arp rod bolts as well. 2000 gts

Could have been a running change or just done on the 2000-2002 models. I know for certain the 96-99 engines had standard rod bolts.
I will look through some parts and see what I find for those years.
