I wanted to introduce myself for those that do not know me. My name is John McDonald and for the past 2 years I have served as the treasurer for the Nor Cal Viper Club. Recently we held our elections and I was elected to be president for the club. Maurice decided to retire after holding the position for 20 years. Below is a copy of my acceptance letter that was sent to the Nor Cal membership.
I'd like to thank the entire club membership for choosing me to represent you as your president in the Nor Cal Viper Club. It is such an honor to be elected as your next president. I am humbled that you would place your faith and trust in me to attempt to fill the large shoes that Maurice Liang is leaving behind after 20 years of service. This is a large responsibility that I do not take lightly, and I will endeavor to represent you with the utmost transparency and integrity.
I would like to thank my opponent Sanjar for running such a fair and competitive campaign and look forward to working with him in the future on club activities. I would like to thank my wife Nikki for her help and support. I would also like to thank Glen and Aaron for stepping up to their roles as secretary and treasurer; I look forward to serving with them on the board together this upcoming term. Last but certainly not least I would like to thank Maurice Liang for his 20 years of service and dedication to the club; he has a true passion for the Viper and our club and it will be my honor to take the reins and lead our club in the next chapter.
My plan is to make the transition as smooth and seamless to the membership as possible and continue to help grow and nurture the club, as well as continue to progress our relationship with our manufacturer SRT so they will continue to support our key annual events and include us on their local activities.
I will be attending the first Viper Owners Association president's meeting in April to network with both the national officers and fellow region presidents and attend workshops to share best practices. My goal is to bring back some new ideas to energize our club. We already have one of the largest and most active regions in the world; let's see how we can make it better. As always I welcome your thoughts and ideas on how we can improve the club and your experience as a member.
Thank you for the opportunity to serve you. I look forward to seeing each of you at our events in the future.
Sincerely,
John McDonald
