hood emblem

i have a 2000 black viper. im looking to replace hood emblem. old one is peeling. the only black emblem i can find is for a 97. can anyone tell me if there is any difference between the two?

I have a bunch of brand new old p/n black ones. I can post pics but since I don't have the newer p/n one to compare it to I'm not thinking that would be entirely useful.
