I know alot of people are afraid to cut in to there 10k hood but i said screw it whats the worst that can happen. I also know that since i dont have an ACR to copy from the holes might be a little off from stock but i measured 100 times and at least made them match. I used the APR carbon fiber vents as templates. Sorry for the sound this is my first how to video lol. I just went slow and removed only a little material at a time then checked. Took me about 6Hrs for both vents no including cure time for the epoxy to cure. So here is a how to or how i did it lol. Video will be posting shortly but for now here is pictures. 41101411024110341104

Nice work! Any tips for someone wanting to do the same? What tools did you use to cut/smooth out the edges and how did it work? I just bought an SRT hood to do this to as well. I'm debating between the agency power (no template) vents and the Xtreme (templates included) vents.

Thanks and I used a dremmel cut off wheel and sanding wheel. 120 and 60 grit. 60grit for most of the time and 120 to finish it up. I really like the APR ones but then again that is the only one i went with lol. Only advice is go slow, make your cut and punch threw with alot of wiggle room then slowly work it to the perfect shape. once your remove the materal there is no going back lol.

How do you fit your massive balls in your pants?

Agency Power is hit and miss for quality and customer service. Xtreme is top notch in quality and no one is better in customer service.

I've seen a local shop selling ACR hood replicas with fender vents.

I do too! Im strongly considering this project. I'd go pappy's route with that angle grinder. Need more pics of these vents on Gen 5 without a wing.

q8blueviper both cars look awesome!! I'm curious, were those hoods cut and then painted after or just cut and vents installed?

It would be a very easy touchup....not a full repaint. Any slight color difference would not be noticeable at all

Andyk753 did a very clean job! Regarding the question above regarding touch-up, it is possible to cut the holes with no chipping so only a very small unpainted line is visible around the edge - almost invisible. The photo below shows a freshly cut vent with no touch-up.

Another thing I notice with the aftermarket vents is that the shape of the opening does not exactly match the OEM ACR. The front of the opening is slightly more "squared off". Here is an example of the OEM piece for reference. If you want it to look "perfectly" factory, especially with the vents removed, you may want to consider using a template from a factory ACR.

Both cars are using replica viper SRT hood and then they’ve cut fender vents after paint, so they didn’t damage their OEM hood.
Replica hood is a bit heaver then oem hood.
