Confronting the dealer isn't going to get the job done here. Who in their right mind is going to admit to getting duped into buying this car when they were trying to turn a quick profit? Someone is going to get left holding a pile of shit, and no one is going to willingly accept that. To believe otherwise is to go against human nature.

The only way this is going to stop is if the title somehow gets marked to reflect its questionable history.

The real question is: does anyone have solid proof that would hold up to scrutiny?

If not, this cycle will continue ad infinitum as there is no shortage of morally bankrupt car dealers in this world, especially given the current market.

I might be wrong but I seem to recall seeing pics of “rusty” door panel speaker grills from car 49. Certainly not a smoking gun but if my memory is correct it enhances the proof of submersion

Page 6 in this thread..

I think that you may be referring to the photo in post #130 (just giving that info since I did not find it on page 6 on the device I am looking at the forum on, when I went looking for it) https://driveviper.com/forums/threads/25376-Tribute-to-the-death-of-Orange-TA-68?p=438343&viewfull=1#post438343

I think this photo in May 2021 (#49 - correct me if I am wrong) from pappyG45 (https://driveviper.com/forums/threads/28421-Help-on-my-Gen5-TA-please-Lower-exhaust-bubbling) is the most compelling evidence of possible water/corrosion or other damage.

isnt that panel aluminum at the exhaust sill? If so i dont think that'd be rust blistering.. maybe a previous repair failing.. i.e. popping bond.. would need to see it in person to know more.

I stopped by and seen that car. Within seeing the car from 20' away you know to run. I might pay $30k for it as a parts car. Motor runs good but that's it. In driving it, it pulled to the left hard enough I didn't want to go over 40mph. Sketchy busted car.

What did you say to the sales person?

Nothing really. I told him it's not the condition I was expecting and that I believe the car had been wrecked.

I'm not sure what's more shocking- the situation or that I'm surprised that the car in the pictures on page 1 drives poorly.
