Hi Guys
I was recently drove down to a 2 day track event in Dijon in France. Weather was sadly not at its best, however managed to turn the event into a good one. Most of the people at the event were friends fromother track events so it was great for all us like minded individuals to get together again. I brought along the ACR (drove it down) whilst my mechanic trailered my 996.2 GT3 there. On the first day I used the 996 whilst the ACR was set for the second day. This video shows highlights and elements of the trip there and track footage. For some cool 996 battles at Dijon you can check out my other videos on my channel!

It was my 2nd time at Dijon(last year I only brought the 996 there) and it was my first time with the ACR there. Its a short technical circuit-ex Formula 1- but great fun. The ACR was fine there, although I needed to tweak the rebound compression towards the middle/end of the day. Had some difficulty with 5th gear. Not sure what its related to although it certainly doesn't like being speed shifted. Also had to be careful with the throttle inputs-the 9.0 is a beast and as we had some semi damp conditions on the day the ACR would be quite squirrly if you were too heavy footed with the pedal. Definitely more improvement to come at this circuit with the ACR(although interestingly with the 996 I extracted all of its potential-and then some). But taming a 400hp car is different to an 800 hp one!!

Btw there were 4 Viper ACR's there on the day-including mine!! The other 3 ACR's were trailered from Sweden!! Its pretty much unheard of in Europe to see 4 ACRs on the same day at the same track. So it was good fun seeing them there, although they were more "gentlemen racers" rather than nutters like myself and not caning the cars as much!

Whilst there there were a couple of full blown Race Lambo Huracan GT3's doing some testing there and were very fast. Had a bit of a tussle with the slower driver of the 2 although of course its hard to argue with a
properly stripped out and slammed racer like that on any circuit!

Anyway hope you guys enjoy the video!!

Great stuff. Amazing how well the 9L pulls away on the straights, and how well you handle the Huracan GTR's. Those are legit racecars. Your ACR is strong! And sounds great from the trackside!

Curious to know what the Huracan drivers had to say about the ACR being a street legal road car giving them fits.

Cheers. Yes indeed at the end of the day both drivers came around to my garage to have a look and seemed very interested. Sadly they only spoke French and my french is limited so very short discussions took place. But certainly they seemed impressed. More so when I told them that I was packing up and driving the car up to London 7 hours away!! And here's the thing. Not many cars that can "play"-to a limited degree of course- with a Full blown racing Huracan on a circuit like that then tootle off home on a long drive!

Of course you only told them it would take you 7 hours to get home for effect --- we know you can make it in 6, ha,ha!! Great post, loved the racing adventure , the video and your comments. Now we need to get you to join VOA so you can fly over to Miami next year and tell everyone in person all about this and other track events you have attended?

Looks like great fun. You could have told the Lambo guys your Viper has shared DNA.... Most Lamborghini owners around here have no idea about that history.

.....and I just have to do this since you were racing in Dijon. Considering the color of your ACR, you just gave Lambos the answer to whether they had just had a Grey poop on ( Poupon).

Nice one Bill. I had to look that one up though!! Didn't know that about the mustard in the US..

Appreciate the time you take to put these videos together and sharing your experiences and adding your comments about what could be improved or details that happen on track. I know a few of the Viper people over in Sweden - there's at least one more ACR E that wasn't there. Car looks great!

As always, enjoyed the video and commentary. That was epic fun to watch. Watching you battle with those Huracan GT3R wow. Very impressive 9L you have there.

Imagine if you had that Hollinger gearbox, some slicks like they have and a little better knowledge of the track. :) :drive:
