Wanted to share my experience with pursuing a heads/cam package for my car. Did a lot of research with different companies offering this service but in the end I decided on Calvo Motorsports and Antonio Calvo, and man let me assure all of you, best decision I could have made. Not to put down any other shops doing this same package but I cannot express how happy I am with Antonio Calvo and his team especially Andrei Spirin for keeping me in the loop the whole way.

Received the car today, awesome service Andy House, and I am blown away with this car. Looks and sounds so sweet, its insane! Immediately took the car out and drove it over 150 miles today alone. The car drives so well, better than stock, after dynoing almost 700 whp! I cannot get over how well the car drives, simply unbelievable!

Again not to discredit any other shops doing this work, obviously I have no experience with them, with Antonio Calvo and his team are A number 1 top notch and will give you amazing service and a product that will leave you shaking your head like WTF has happened! I've had to change my underwear twice today already, this car has been taken to the next level, pure craziness!

Sorry for the long post but wanted to share my journey, gonna leave all the pictures and videos I have of the car while it was at Calvo's shop and a few that I took today receiving the car and after driving it today. Anyone of the fence about adding heads/cam to your car, do it now, don't even think about it anymore, just do it now and you can thank me later.

Sounds so good! Here I am thinking about having this done soon and been reading about Calvos kit and you go and post this thread. Is this a sign lol? Are those coated American Racing headers? Cats? Maganaflow mufflers? I really like that sound! What shape were your stock bearings in? I think Calvo just ditches the stockers and uses their own new bearings automatically. Also, Im sure the 5th gear upgrade is a ratio change to help the power band of the new setup but could a customer just skip that? I dont do standing mile events so I dont really see the point. Congrats on the build. Now you have me itching to do this!

Thanks, she is a beast for sure! The ARH are coated, mine also has hi flow cats and magnaflow mufflers. This is what Antonio uses as standard unless you specify another exhaust setup that you prefer.

Antonio said my bearing were in ok shape, nothing great but also nothing bad either, normal. Yes, he puts in new bearings in all his builds I think.

The 5th gear ratio upgrade is an option. I added it just in case I want to do any 1/2 mile or mile events.

5th gear is the only one changed. Just stays in the power band better when switching from 4th to 5th. Really only good for some mile events or 1/2 mile events maybe. I may try one of those events so I went ahead with the upgrade since Antonio already had my car.

I think those white letters were painted on, they are gone now, upgrade to R888's with the heads/cam. Glad I did because there is no way those Pirelli's would hold this thing at all.

Sick! Mine made about the same, I thought I was the only one that left HFC's on a H/C build. They are a 20+ rwhp hit leaving those on. I agree with you, Calvo was excellent to work with. Congrats on the build, you have a track beast now!

The torque numbers were not reading correctly for some reason. Cashcorn is right though, the thing pulls so damn hard, and yes with hi flow cats. We still have emissions here where I live so had to do it

Nobody I've heard of & that includes the Mopar Coverage which is Supposed to be the Best will NOT Cover your car with these Mods? I'd Love to hear HOW! They told me I can't even put a Friggin' Tune on mine, much less headers or cam which I don't want, I'd just Love to have a TUNE!

The package comes with a 2 year warranty from Calvo. As far as the small stuff, I don’t think my dealership would deny a non drivetrain related claim because there are some mods on the car. Either way I don’t worry about it. As far as having just a tune, I personally wouldn’t risk it either unless I at least had the bearings inspected first.

What system did you go with?

The heads and cam package that Bapple went with. He made 686WHP THROUGH CATS! I also have a Nitrous Kit: http://www.racingsolutions.com/products/nitrous-outlet-hardline-system-2008-viper.html

According to Andrei @ Calvo, while my aero will give me about 25% more grip than a non-aero car... I will only be able to squeeze 100-150hp before needing to go to a MOTEC system ($16K) to further control fuel tables for traction. So I'll run right at the limit of grip and go from there... to be honest... the CM1300 kit may be in the works. Have a couple investments that may turn 700whp into 1300whp... we will know by End of Q3 next year!
