I ran a couple errands this morning in my viper. I installed my IPSCO shifter yesterday and I was excited to try it out today. I got home earlier and decided to wipe the car down. I couldn't help but notice that some a$$hole hit the back bumper at some point this morning. The bumper looks pretty good and straight as far as I can tell. However, the paint is cracked and flaking off.

I ordered some new emblems/decals this morning from viperpartsrack. I plan to get some estimates later this week.

What have you guys spent on getting single panels resprayed? How likely is the new paint to match the existing paint?

Paint can be matched no problem. As long as the rest of the paint is well taken care of it wont be noticeable, maybe a little brighter since it's new clear coat. Nothing can be done about that. If you're removing the bumper yourself expect to spend $700-1000 for a quality job, more if you plan to let your shop of choice remove the bumper and then reinstall it. Additionally, they may or may not install the vinyl stripes. We have a sublet vendor who does that for us since they are expensive and it's not our wheelhouse. My 2 cents!

Where are you located? I'm in Northern CA.

Color? Stripes?

Color? Stripes?

The color is red. The stripes are vinyl. I would love to have the stripes removed! I'm not sure how long the stripes have been on the car. At this point I'm just going to leave the stripes alone.

$300 - $500 if you remove it yourself.

We would charge roughly 5-600 if it has to be fully stripped to bare plastic (they pretty much all do on these cars) then painted. They all fade a little differently depending on exposure but it’s not terribly hard to get a good match if the painter knows what they are doing and knows how to tint their paint system
