Hi guys, well as I stated on another thread, I suffered a power steering cooler puncture at the track which ended my day. Of course a new cooler is going in. However whilst I have the bumper off, I was thinking just how much the airconditioner radiator/condensor is covering the car radiator-about 85% in fact. Now I know that AZ has removed his altogether but tbh I still want to have air conditioning and don't want to sweat it out. So I was thinking whether one could make the air con cooler a bit smaller. Of course I know its been designed to keep things cool in Arizona and Nevada etc, however where I live its rarely scorching so polar cold is not really necessary. So looking at the air con radiator it seems to my untrained eyes it shouldn't be that difficult to section some of that condensor off and therefore improve air flow to the car radiator by about 30%. It would also lose a bit more weight at the front. Speaking to my mechanic he thinks that capping off the side posts where the fluid comes in and out and sectioning off the top 30% of the rad should work. So with that in mind just wanted to hear from anyone that may have expertise in this sort of thing.

No experience with that..

Any chance doing that will lead to a pressure problem in the compressor? IE the compressor is designed such that the condenser changes the pressure X amount so if that's reduced will the compressor either hit a high limit switch and shut off or will it fail prematurely?

Car will run much cooler everywhere on track with that off. I wonder if you relocate it how much it would affect A/C performance. If you really wanted to get serious, relocate it and just put a brushless fan on it
