I finally had the chance to get these brakes installed. The hold up was finding a front 18 inch wheel that would clear the 6 piston and 380mm rotor. That, and I wanted to keep the factory staggered 19 inch rear, 18 inch fronts. CCW does have a wheel that will work, but no 19 x 13 for the rears. Just 18 inch front and backs. The ACR is my dedicated track car,but I enjoy driving it on the street with the Sport Cup tires. CCW couldn't help me on this. So I had Jon B contact Forgeline Wheel for me. Forgeline was able to special make me a wheel combo that would work. Working off of Stoptech's wheel fitment template..
BBK WFT - Acura to Hyundai (http://www.stoptech.com/technical-support/bbk-wheel-fitment-templates/bbk-wft---acura-to-hyundai)
These are the 3 piece GA3 wheels with titanium fasteners..

After bedding in the brakes. I did some runs on some back roads, and on the freeway. Wow these brakes bite hard as hell! The braking is so strong that it will put you through the windshield LOL. I'm running the same spec ( Carbotech XP12) pads that were also on my factory brakes. No comparison to the factory 4 piston , 14inch factory fronts. That were on this car,and on my Gen V.The car is perfect now. I always said that the Viper's biggest weakness was it's brakes. I can't wait to go back out to Laguna Seca. Laguna is a track that's also very hard on the brakes. It's going to be badass..

A big thank's to Jon B too..

I had 6 piston front, 4 piston rear from Jonb on my last Viper, (Gen II), there's nothing better than having all those pistons to stop your 3500# car!

Very Nice! The wheels look a lot like the Gen II ACR stock BBS wheels.

I just put the same brakes on our One Lap car for the 2014 event but we also went with 13" rears to hlpe balance out the braking. This is the same setup we have on the 007 Comp Coupe. But opted to go with 19" wheels up front so that we can get a 325 tire versus the 285 we had to run last year. Keep in mind the One Lap requires you to run street tires. We will be running Michelin Super Sport XL's again this year. We will be taking both cars to NOLA in two weeks with NARRA for some testing. We also are going with PFC pads front and rear, again same compounds as on the race car. I'll let you all know the results when we get back from NOLA.

THANKS TO JON B AND STOPTECH FOR YOUR HELP AGAIN THIS YEAR IN OUR ONE LAP OF AMERICA EFFORT.

Wow, great info, I would have never thought to run a 19" up front to get the wider tire!

I'm sure they weren't cheap, but man do they look (and stop) good! Congrats. Update us with how they perform on the track vs the stockers.

With the factory 295/30/18 Sport Cup tires. You can run up to a 12 inch wheel. My Forgeline wheels are 18 X 10.5( StockACR sidewinders a 18x10).. With the wider wheel the car will push less, and you will also get quicker turn in..

Is there a 6-piston set up that would fit inside the stock 18 inch wheel. I have an 09 with 6 spoke wheels

V10, just curious why you don't run with slicks when you track? Nice job on the brakes. Looks great.

No . The inner wheel barrel is too thick. Not enough room for the caliper..

Thank you MB. I like driving my ACR on the street too. Take a nice cruise on Highway 1 Big Sur with the wife . I would have to buy another set of wheels for slicks. Would take up space. I also do a lot of karting. I have two karts , and those plus the kart stands, parts, equipment etc etc take up space. Not to mention my stock ACR sidewinder wheels which I still have..

It's pretty tight..

Lee,

Is Stoptech going to make a 6 piston caliper that will fit inside our stock 18" barrels? I have two sets of street rims (18's front and 19's rear) and two sets of track rims (18's front and back). Replacing all those front rims (and rears to match) is a deal breaker for me.

Six pistons look sexy, but I gotta make it fit the rims I already have.

Cheers,
George

Hi George. That's the first thing I asked when I called Stoptech, but unfortunately the 380mm kit is the only one they make..
