Stumbled upon this Saturday morning. She (#35) is a 1 owner car with 778 miles, clear film on the bumper and rockers, along with Jack B's stone guards, Other than that, she is completely stock. I will always say that the anodized carbon was the best paint ever put on a Viper, but getting one just didn't seem to be in the cards for me. But I'm Ok with that. I have always admired the 2014 orange. I just didn't think I would ever end up owning one.

The car will go straight to Vengeance Racing for their heads and cam package. While it's there, I am also going to see if they will paint the coil covers and fuel cap orange, and lower the car with Ipsco caps, While I'm waiting, I'm hoping Tony can help me with a new set of wheels. I'm excited.

We were just talking about that. I have seen a black one and it looks good. However, the cap on my carbon car was painted the same color. I'm not sure if the orange would have the same effect.

Thank you. They have 2 different cam grinds that they use. One produces around 700 rwhp while the other is in the 650-660 range. The higher version--as I understand it, is more for track use, while the lower maintains good street manners. I will be talking more details with David after he gets the car. I'm not looking to break any numbers, but rather want a nice bump over stock. I chose Vengeance because they are only 3.5 hours from me. I think having them close is important. .

Excellent question, and one that I wrestled with. However, with every other car that I looked at, the owner was likely the second owner, and as a result, the cover or the manual was missing. I know that seems somewhat insignificant, but in order for the car to feel like it is truly mine, I wanted everything that should have come with it new. Furthermore, you could ask the same question given the fact I plan on driving this car. Why not get a higher mileage car and pay less? Well, that would be assuming that this extremely low mileage car cost me significantly more:orange:

Here's a question that really only I can answer, as it is completely personal preference. I always thought that the 18" Sidewinders were too small in the front on the carbon car. What is popular opinion against the orange? I believe I have selected a set of wheels (19's) that Tony has confirmed is available, but I'm just not sure.

I personally like the look of the 18/19 stagger, and think the 18 front looks great on a lowered car. If you're not planning on lowering from factory height, then the 19 might fill it out more.

Wheel choice should also be based on the tires you want to run. What tire have you chosen, and is it available in both 18 and 19? More choices for street tires but maybe not so much if you want something good for the road course.

With all of my 19's, I have run the Toyo's. With the extra HP that the car will have, it almost becomes a requirement. Not really sure how the Corsa's will hold up.

While I'm waiting, I went ahead and placed my wheel order with Tony. Going with the BC Forged KL13 in a dark brushed black finish (I let Tony pick the color). This wheel is definitely cheaper than some that I have had in the past, but they have a good reputation for quality and finish. More importantly, Tony was willing to sell them.

Here is a pic of the wheel, just not in the dark brushed black finish.

No doubt the KL13 will look awesome on your OTA, especially in 19" upfront with the lowering caps. From the look of the wheel stud opening, the KL13 appears to have a larger opening, which should make it easier to start the wheel nut without a socket.

Thanks Ed! And you were right.....there is definitely less anxiety with this paint. I probably rubbed on it for 2 hours last night, with no fear of diminishing the finish.

I did however fail to remember that the TA lacks some of the creature comforts of the GTS. When I pulled the car off the transport truck, I reached for the power seat controls only to realize they weren't there. And no side sill protectors that say "Viper"! I will have to put clear film on those areas for sure.

But the car is absolutely perfect. Not one chip or scratch. It still smells new, and definitely drives and rides new. I love it.

Weather permitting will be at Charlotte Cars and Coffee Saturday with my buddy Jason who as a '13 SRT Viper. You should join if possible.

Another beauty coming from the team of Ron and Tony. It doesn't get much better than an Orange TA with some aftermarket wheels.

Gordon?

Yes, Gordon is installing more PPF on the Viper and recently did the hood, front fascia, and roof. Mike (the owner is my client). Gordon did my Backdraft Cobra as well.

I love it.

Thank you very much!

I'm surprised about the side sills.. My TA2 has stainless sills with Viper in black letters. You know that I'm not the original owner so I don't know if this was stock or added when the car was new.

The stainless side sills used to be one of the least expensive Viper additions. I assume they are still readily available.

I know this is likely somewhere buried in the threads, but can someone explain the major differences between the GTS and the TA. My Carbon edition was loaded with all the creature comforts, and like I mentioned earlier, I immediately recognized that the TA is without power seats. Also, I was listening to the radio last night and realized that I only have the 12 speaker system with the 2 subs rather than the 18 with 4. The 18/4 wasn't spectacular, but definitely more punch than the 12/2.

The TA has the desired carbon aero pieces, including the X brace. But it doesn't have the carbon side brake vents. I really miss that look.

I know that the TA has a different suspension, but it still has the 2 buttons for "Track" and "Street". Is there anything about the suspension that I should know? What are the other differences between the 2 that I may not be immediately recognizing?

I was about to say the same thing, also get the less desirable hood.

Order the SRT, get the 18-speaker, order TA bits and be done. It would still be less than a GTS. I went with MCS coil overs. The stock SRT suspension isnt bad. I came from a big wheel solid axle mustang. Now that was a shitty ride.

Nice upgrade! LOL. I just installed the BC Racing Coil Overs with the ACR (damned near) spring rates. Car is incredible. 8 clicks from full hard and just waiting for AERO and corner balancing. I LOVE my manual seats... :)

IIRC the TA spring rates are stiffer than the GTS but has the Bilstein 2 mode dampers like the GTS.

Finally dropped my car off this AM and Gordon. Told him about your car and he said you guys have already connected and trying to schedule soon. These crazy sticky Pirelli Corsa Asimmetricos have been throwing every rock possible onto my side sills and even pinged a door slightly. Love the handling... hate the rock chips.

No, you've pretty much got it covered on the TA/GTS differences. On another note, I went from '14 TA to '14 GTS and I've entertained getting rid of my metal door sill covers. Shoot me a pm if interested, though I don't find myself west of Durham much during the summer - plan to be at the September event cruise though.

The TA shocks are valved differently to accommodate the stiffer spring rates.

I had great results with the stone guards sold by Jon (Parts Rack). They really do a great job of deflecting those rocks.

I made some carbon fiber stone guards with the same dimensions and they work pretty well for 90% of the rocks, however 10% are getting by the goalie. The XPel PPF should do the trick.

New wheels arrived today. They were by far the best packed wheels I have ever seen. They definitely wanted to make sure they were safe.

As for the wheels themselves, the finish is just incredible. Tony picked out the color, which is Brushed Dark Black. I was a little concerned, as the pictures online favor more of a darker gray. However, although they aren't completely black, they are very dark. I think Tony was spot on with this one.

Furthermore, they have a really deep concave look for a monoblock. With the way the spokes start at the rim, they create an illusion that they are deeper than what they actually are.

The fronts will be mounted Friday, and the rears next Tuesday. Obviously pic coming soon.

I'll have to talk them again to see if the inside barrel drop specifications are the same to insure clearance for the ACR brakes.

I can't give you a full side view because I don't have the rears mounted yet. However, I do have this one.

A couple of things, I do have black lug nuts. I wasn't sure how it would look all black. Also, I have lowering caps that I haven't installed yet. I'm not really sure that I need them. I am also debating on the rear tires. My plan was just to move the stock Corsa's, but I am debating on whether to put Nitto's on the rear given the HP the car will have.

I like the contrast for the lug nuts personally. Have you also considered the Michelin's? I'll probably head that direction once the current Corsa Asymetrico's are dead. Heard good things and supposedly much less tire noise compared to the Nitto. Most of my cars have been shod with Michelin's and always loved the predictability and feedback they provide. This is my first set of Pirelli's in a long time and they feel good, but currently on perpetual backorder.

I'm looking at the Nitto's (drag radial) purely for the traction. This car feels as strong in stock form as my tune/exhaust Carbon. So I can't imagine what it is going to do to these poor Corsa's with the H/C.

Somewhere between 650 and 675. I could have gone with a larger cam, and possibly gotten over 700, but was told it wasn't as street friendly. I'm not looking for max output, but rather a really nice increase over stock.
