A lot of talk over how many have been wrecked over the years but I was thinking....I wonder how many original owners are out there. I think once you get past some amount of years it becomes harder to sell because you have had it so long it’s hard to part with. Any guesses? Maybe some of the guys who buy/sell them could tell their experience from the cars they buy....or maybe nobody else cares lol.

I purchased my 2002 RT/10 Viper last October from the original owner. He had the car for 16 years and put 11,500 miles on it. He did not drive the car at all for the last 5 years he owned it. I don't think he ever really lusted after the car, just bought it on a whim. His brother told me he stopped at a Dodge dealer (was in his early thirties at the time) and saw the car in the showroom. "Wow! That is really sharp!" says the buyer. "Sure is," says the dealer, "but you can't afford it." Buyer goes home, writes a check for 70-sum thousand dollars and returns the same day to buy the car. So that's the story as I was told. Good for me, as I found my dream car only 100 miles from my home. Got exactly what I was looking for and so happy for it.

I still have my original cars. Still love them and don’t plan to sell them. I will give them to the kids when I can’t drive them. Kids feel the same. They have grown up with them and have a real appreciation for them. They actually learned how to drive in them!

The car I'm buying had the original owner from '94 until '03, then 2nd from '03 to '18. So 8 years first owner is Alabama and almost 15 years second owner in Missouri! Can only imagine the heart break! Current owner and I have been talking every day for the past week, and he's absolutely in love with it and I feel bad taking it from him, but... I also can't let such emotions get in the way of my very own!! =D =D

Around 12,500. Finally put new tires on it this spring.
Original owner 97 GTS. Lived in Boston initially and put in 18K miles in 3 years alongside a Jeep and 2 motorcycles. Then got married, moved to NJ and had 3 kids. The driving reduced to about 1K miles per year. Now in CT, at around 35K. First kid is college bound and starting next year I should see a lot more driving. But I still split my time riding the motorcycles. The GTS is a keeper and will be handed down to my son if it survives me. You never know with these non-ABS cars and I've sure had some close calls.

I'm an original owner of a 2000 RT. Talked to a dealership about my dream car, and then got a call about 8 months later saying they have a car I need to check out.
Went down and there was the black-on-black RT/10 that I imagined. Then I didn't buy it for another 6 months!!!
Brought it home in October of 2000 and it went straight into storage. Longest Canadian winter of my life! LOL!
I've loved the car since day one... put a lot of work into it in 2006, with an engine build, Roe charger, etc. (Of course I have all the OE parts tucked away)
I can honestly say, I've never been bored with it. I absolutely love the raw power (735rwhp) and it never gets old! Every summer when I pull it out, it's like having a new car.
It's hot, loud, smells like gas and spits flames.... it's fantastic :)
I'm always amazed at the reaction it still gets everywhere I go. But the truth is, I bought it for me and have been enjoying it ever since.
It's now at about 97,000km (approx 60k miles.) I pulled the trigger on a new 2017 ACR-E recently, but they old RT ain't going anywhere.
Some of the best people I know and many life-long friends are a direct result of the Viper community.

Wow, you're from "Bernie". We're like twenty miles apart.
Original owner of my '94. 124,260 miles.

Original owner, 2002 GTS, red/silver, and about 36K miles on it now. I was overseas at the time and purchased it through Military Sales. Back then they only sold two Vipers a year; I was lucky. I picked it up in Fort Worth (Tx) about nine months later.
Original owner, 1996 GTS bought new from Alcaro Dodge in September of 2000. Was a showroom ornament until I bought it. 38,000 miles so far.
No plan to ever sell and like Viper Pit, it'll be one of my kid's car someday.
