I recently got my Viper returned after getting the heads ported and polished. The porting and polishing was done by Kevin Singleton from Exotic Engines. I've always been fascinated with the Viper's success in the Lemans races. I heard that he was involved with the Viper's engine building during this era. I went on his Exotic Engine website and all I found was that Kevin is "An automotive industry leader whose resume transcends the gamut of motorsports disciplines." Does anyone know specifics on his involvement and add some info to his resume?

Victor, Kevin's been building Viper motors for a long time. I don't know his history with the LeMans cars or in the various US series but he was involved.

Dan Cragin @ SPT has known and worked with Kevin a long time, reach out to Dan, he may know a good bit of his history.

Many of the viper road racers are familiar with his shop name, Exotic Engine Development

Kevin, built my Comp Coupe G3 motor this time last year. Forged bottom end and a good head/cam package, reliable/durable, 700hp @ flywheel.

The original GTS-R engine program was handled primarily from 1996-2002 by Caldwell Development Inc based in California. Obviously Chrysler engineering played a role in this program as well in Auburn Hills. My understanding of Exotic's involvement was that it came later, after the factory supported team had ended their efforts in 2000. Exotic participated in some of Zakspeed's efforts centered around the Nurburgring 24 Hours, some of which were quite unique. I reached out to Exotic to do an interview for upcoming Viper books but they didn't seem interested in participating, at least at that time.

Str5010, I wonder if Kevin Singleton worked on the GTS-R program during 1996-2002 before he founded Exotic Engine. I also reached out to Exotic Engine through email and Facebook, but I got no replies.

None of the team members I've spoken with on either the Caldwell or Chrysler side have mentioned him thus far, but I'll reach back and see if I can find out.

Kevin worked at Caldwell Development in Vista Ca as an engine builder. Caldwell built the Viper GTSR endurance engines for Chrysler.
When Caldwell (CDI) closed, Kevin started Exotic Engine Development (EED) in Temucula Ca, then moved to Reno Nevada where he is currently
located.

Kevin has been my preferred engine builder for 15 years and his attention to detail and quality are unsurpassed. His latest racing engine is the 900hp
VGXR which uses the GTSR multiple throttle body system on the Competition Coupe engine platform.

His shop uses the latest technology and is capable of engine dyno testing for all generation Viper engines.

I highly recommend his services.

Heard back from one of the Caldwell crew who recalled Kevin arriving at CDI post factory era and supporting some of the GTS-R customer teams. That would have been early 2003 through 2004/2005. His memory syncs up with what Dan said as Kevin moved on to do EED when CDI closed.

If anyone gets in touch with Kevin please pass on that I'd still like to speak with him to record some of the details. Thanks!

Could you clarify what you mean by Kevin arriving post factory era?
Thank you all! Amazing the wealth of knowledge in this forum.

Just a timeline thing. Factory supported GTS-R team was active in competition through Canaska Southwind and ORECA soon thereafter from 1996-2000. Customer teams carried the torch for GTS-R from then on. Last race for the factory backed team was Adelaide right at the end of the 2000 calendar year. Caldwell Development Inc continued producing engines for customer teams after that and even released an engine evolution before John Caldwell retired.
