Sorry if this is obvious and already been answered 101 ways, but I keep wondering:

Could I find (is it even possible anymore?) the slide windows from a '96 and fit them to an earlier car? Will the toupee still fit, "correctly?"

Thanks guys =)

Here ya go Jamos. You may need a pin kit to adapt a soft top from a 96 to a 94-95. I think the windows will fit. Finding a set, well your in the right place to start! You can however buy the soft window set.

The amount of times I've ended up on that page looking for my answer!

The question again was if I can get the 96's WINDOWS on a 95 and still use the 95's included soft-top. So I'm not sure why I'd need to adapt a '96 roof =)

A long time ago I purchased the sliding side windows and did not use them. As I recall (20 year old memory ...) they required the use of an A pillar seal that was installed permanently on the A pillar and required holes to be drilled. I ended up with the hard Lexan windows instead.

I've been thinking it had something to do with the doors having something unique on the b pillars, but other than the exterior door handle/knob/button I've never been able to figure out what it would be. It seems the earlier models have more of a gap between the top of the b pillar on the door than the 96+ rt's had.

I've seen a video of a fellow here with the sliding windows on this 93, but when asked about them he said he has no idea what or where, it just came like that. So close! =D

The 96 slider windows will physically fit. No issues. You may have to install a soft foam seal on the hard top for a tight seal so water does leak into the cockpit. That said, they all will leak....... all. I have a set of slider windows for sale if you want a set. PM me.

That's good news! Also I've figured leaks world be solved by some extra weather stripping anyway no? Proper automotive stuff.

Pm sent =)

The "leak solution" has typically been two towels...one for driver and one for passenger. As 99RT10 said: "they all will leak". :)

Actually I'd like to ask more, since the conversation always seems to end there.

Where does it actually leak from? Is it just... all over? Is it usually always the same spot - why don't people just put some extra rubber stripping there? (like the stuff on the door jambs of cars)

Is it only at a certain speed?

Can the car be parked outside with the roof and doors on and survive a flash rain storm? Or must it ALWAYS be covered to avoid water entering the cabin?

If you go to a bar, and have the roof/windows on, but then it starts pouring rain, that's a concern for me. =)

Hopefully someone has experienced this haha!

can you safely drive a 94 with the windows in and the roof not on

That's a funny question! Usually I see people driving with their soft top on and no windows... I can't wait to try your idea next summer!

pfff...it isn't just the RT's that leak...my GTS does on the passenger side as well. The joy of owning a kit car pretty much,
