Hi Guys,
Looking into possibly buying/importing an early RT10 into Australia end on this year/start of 2020. Due to LHD laws, would need it to be 1995 make or earlier. Would be after one with a AC, hardtop roof, plexi windows and 40,000miles MAX. Wanting one in excellent condition aesthetically and mechanically.
Budget from $25k-30k USD (depending on miles). Have seen several examples of what I've described in or close to that range, so not just plucking a number out of thin air. Have done some research before posting.
I’ve imported cars from the US several times, so would be a hassle free sell with minimal effort from your end.
Again, this would be in about 6 months time so if you're thinking of letting your Viper go and want to spare the hassles of advertising and finding a buyer, please PM me if you have what I'm after.
Thanks in advance :)
Cheers,
James

Assume you do NOT have to convert to RHD on cars 1995 or older?
Your budget is a little low for a full-featured, lower-miles 1995 as described. 40K miles would be considered high miles and a realistic 94 budget. Remember all G1 OE head gaskets 92-95 are DOOMED TO FAIL so during your research, try to ensure they have been documented or inspected as changed, especially if you buy a car with more than 25000 miles.
Good Luck
Any chance you crossed paths with DEE from Vic? He converted about 40 x 2002s to RHD for OZ and Japan. I bought all his take-off parts waay back when.

Correct, as of next year can register a ‘95 on a special permit.
Import laws are changing aswell, so after Dec 10th, 2019 is when I’ll be ready to bring one in, as I can do a private import then.
Have seen a few ‘94 and ‘95 with round 30,000miles for $28-30k with the stuff I’m after. Currently messaging someone with a ‘94 with hardtop, plexi windows and 39,000miles for $24,500US
Thanks for the tip with the head gaskets.
Have messaged Jennifer Diles regarding some Viper bits in VIC. She had RHD moulds for dashes, etc too. Possibly her husband is Dee?

James,
I have a very early 94 with A/C. I am the first titled owner and it has 21,500 miles. Please email me at kjmjk1@aol.com and I will be pleased to send you a full description, pictures, service records, etc... Thanks, Keith
PS. I just saw the post about the head gaskets - I had my changed out and still have the originals - preventative maintenance - no issues. It was serviced by Tom Session, a well known Viper technician/mechanic.

I think you're going to be paying $40,000 for that car.

Had a 19,000mile one in great condition, hardtop roof and plexi windows offered to me at $28k.
Fell through as can’t out deposit until end of year - hence why I’m looking at someone who’s selling then.
There’s definitely good deals out there. They’re not all high priced or high mileage

I'm sure you've heard the term buyer beware. It bears special significance to Gen l and Gen ll Vipers. Have you had these "good deals" inspected by someone experienced with Vipers? Just sayin'
