are you logging IATs and timing ? I'm curious what is getting pulled and what fuel you all have experimented with?
Also, has anyone hooked up a trans temp sensor and/or anyone running a trans cooler? I know the supplemental said to add a diff cooler, but was silent on the trans side.

IATs are not usually a problem on a road course. The air rushing in to the airbox keeps it close to ambient. However, coolant temp does rise and it can also cause timing to be pulled.

I can speak to the coolant and oil temps being high on road courses here in the southwest. But there are some much more serious track guys on here than me. I'm sure they will chime in.

I see it a little differently. Here are a couple of data points. Today I drove 12 miles to breakfast with OAT of 74 degrees. The IAT started at 76 and ended at 80 degrees. One hour later, with an outside OAT of 76 degrees, the IAT was 110 degrees at start up (heat soak). After the 12 mile drive home the temp got down to 92 degrees. I don't have a heat shield on the air box. Last summer at Inde with an OAT of about 95 degrees, I ran the first morning session with no issue. The second session (about 10 am) I got on track with IAT of 130 degrees and it never came down from there. I lost 12 mph on the long main straight - felt like I lost 100 hp. The water temp never got above 228 degrees the whole session. I think the IAT sensors that are located with the MAF sensors get heat soaked from underhood heat and never fully recover with cooler inlet air flow. IMHO

Interesting. I never saw IATs overly high on my cars although water temps on my 15 TA 2.0 would hit 243 and oil would hit 265. My ACR-E runs cooler. Coolant on the ACR-E usually is 220 or lower. Just to be safe though I did wrap the IAT sensors on my ACR.

Open road not a big issue. Make a few Dyno passes and the temp really starts to pull timing and throw off the numbers. You just can't get enough air flow when sitting still.

The IAT sensor heat soak is definitely an issue, and surprisingly hasn’t really been addressed at all aside from the DSE heat shield. At WOT IAT and ambient should be almost identical. Makes me wonder if it’s possible to tap the wires feeding the data from the MAF, and move to an external temp sensor mounted in the air box or somewhere else less susceptible to heat soak, eliminating the MAF based sensor. As many people have mentioned, my car really wakes up when the IAT remains below 83.

These cars definitely loose about 100hp on the track when hot IMO. Lap times from 2nd lap to last lap are seconds apart

Are you seeing knock or is strictly a iat issue?

Moving a sensors location would require retuning
