Houston members, please feel free to join us!
Good afternoon, North Texas Viper Owners! Have a new addition to our calendar and wanted to fill everyone in on it. Should be a lot of fun!
Kari and Kerry have been working with the Jaguar Owners Association of North Texas to bring us a really fun autocross event. The JOANT does this annually and have graciously agreed to allow us to tag along and enjoy the fun and competition.
There are 3 different course layouts and each participant will get 5 runs on each configuration. This promises to be a really fun event. Cost will be $25-30 per person plus $5 for insurance since we are not club members of the JOANT and they are fronting the insurance bill. We will also need to take turns helping out with cones and course management as the day progresses. If you've ever done an autocross, you know some cones are going to need fixing!
After the Autocross day, we will be cruising over to Texas Live! for dinner and drinks before heading back home. This is a really cool venue we haven't been to as a club that offers plenty of parking for us.
Bring a helmet if you have one. If not, maybe this would be a great time to pick up an entry level helmet to have for future events! There will be spares floating around I'm sure if you absolutely cannot bring one of your own. If you plan on borrowing one, for your sake and the sake of the helmet owner, please bring a balaclava to wear underneath. Here is a link to Summit Racing helmets. If you do invest in a helmet, make sure it is a full face SA2015 rated helmet. You do not want an MA2015 rated helmet as they are rated for motorcycle use and are not permitted at most track day/HPDE events you would want to attend. If you have any helmet questions, please shoot me an email or text and I'd be happy to help out! https://www.summitracing.com/search/...rder=Ascending

Thanks so much to Kari and Kerry for doing all the leg work on this so that our club can have a variety of fun and challenging events!
