Good afternoon everyone! Katie and Robert Herold have stepped up and planned a really cool event for May 4th! What better way to spend Star Wars day than with your favorite Viper friends!? Also, it starts at Walmart so if you need to get a little shopping done, boom, problem solved. Please see the below event details and let Robert know you're coming. Details are also on our facebook page and at driveviper.com
All,
Fellow Viper owners and friends. Katie and I are excited to put this event together for the club! Below I have put together a timeline for the event on May 4th. I am hoping everyone can make it. Let me summarize the event. Drive, eat food, drive, go karting, drive, drive a tank, drive, eat, sunsent cruise on the lake!
This would also be a great photo op with us, the tanks and the cars. We are allowed to crawl all over any of the vehicles they have. This is not your typical museum that does not allow you to touch things!
10:30 AM Departure, leaving form the Walmart parking lot in Forney.
10:30 AM - 11:00 Drive to Sessions BBQ to get some quick lunch http://smokesessionsbarbecue.com/
11:00 AM - 12:25 PM Sessions BBQ with a quick bite to eat for lunch. This is perhaps the best dive BBQ place we (the family and I) have been to ever. It is a little bit of a dive but really good.
12:25 PM - 12:45 PM Drive to Dallas Karting Complex https://www.dallaskartingcomplex.com/
12:45 PM - 1:45 PM Dallas carting complex. You can drive go karts ranging from 30mp-80mph!
If we can get some people that want to commit to driving the karts then we can get some better pricing for faster cars!
1:45 PM - 2:15 PM Drive to Military Heritage Museum http://www.fubarmotorpool.com/
2:15 PM - 4:15 PM Military Heritage Museum. Non profit group with free entry and free tours. We can also drive tanks (for a donation) or some of the military trucks! They will also try to bring out some other veterans, perhaps a POW and others that would be awesome to talk to. We were also asked if some other people could come out to see the cars and maybe that would help them out with their donations?
4:15 pm - 4:45 PM Drive to Harbor in Rockwall for dinner at Gloria's Mexican Restaurant with special parking for Vipers. https://gloriascuisine.com/locations/rockwall.html
5:00 PM - 6:45 PM Dinner at the Harbor at Gloria's Mexican Food Restaurant. This is a lake front restaurant that is at the same location as the boat cruise.
7:00-9:00 PM Sunset Cruise on Lake Ray Hubbard on a Catamaran $30 per person. Must purchase tickets in advance. https://sailwithscott.com/
This boat is a first come first serve event. They have seating for 80 people. If you do not buy your tickets early then the boat may fill up.
For those that do not want to drive home after the event you can book a room at the Hilton that overlooks the water for the night. For those staying, there is shopping, a movie theater and other dining and dessert options. https://www3.hilton.com/en/hotels/texas/hilton-dallas-rockwall-lakefront-DALRWHF/index.html?SEO_id=GMB-HI-DALRWHF
I am hoping to have a great turn out and take some cool group photos with tanks and veterans!
I will try to have designated parking everywhere we go so that everyone can feel safe with there cars.
Thanks
Robert & Katie
