Odd 2009 Power Steering Rack Leak Thoughts

Thanks in advance for any help or thoughts. So I developed a small power steering leak on my 2009. Was expecting to see some weeping from the lines, but they looked good. As you can see from the attached photo - there is power steering fluid in a circular plug opening. After closer inspection - there was a nut in the circle holding the "plug" in place and it was loose. I tightened it and will have to drive it to see if it fixes the issue. Wondering if anyone has seen this before and I was also wondering if there might be a rubber ring washer as part of that plug?

Thanks 98! Did the teflon tape fix the leak? That looks exactly where mine appears to be leaking - although my plug had a nut head, so I was able to easily tighten it. I did not remove the plug to inspect as I wasnt sure if it would have drained the fluid and I wasnt prepared for that.

Yes it did. But I am still wondering... there was no gasket/o-ring whatsoever installed to seal that plastic plug. That makes me think that under normal conditions there should not be any fluid under this plug . Maybe there is another internal seal bad so that fluid can find its way out... But as I have no steering issues whatsoever I don't bother at the moment...

98 - thanks again for your help. I looked at your thread again and was looking at this picture. Zoomed in and hard to tell - but it almost looks like some black sealant or the remnants of an O-ring in the bottom of that opening between the housing and the white piece???

Update to this thread in case someone else has this issue. if you look closely at my first pic - in the middle of that adjustment nut is supposed to be a rubber plug. How or why mine went missing is crazy. Also - that adjustment nut is interesting as it controls (to a degree) how much play you have in your steering wheel. If you tighten it too tight, the wheel will actually stay turned and not return to center when you let go of the wheel. Here's a pic of that plug I got from a donor vehicle.
