So long story short, got a good offer for my G4ACR and sold it unexpectedly. In the market now for an G5, have narrowed it down to an Orange T/A, Stryker Green or Anodized Carbon. Please message me if you have one. Thanks!

Beautiful car! Looking to buy private (save on sales tax here in AZ)

OTAs Stryker Greens and AC’s all typically go for 95-110k is that your price range ? Or are you part of the dreamers who think they can find a “no stories “ car cheaper than that? Lol. Maybe two years ago, but not now. OTAs were on the bottom end but now are in the above sweet spot. The last 3 Stryker greens went for 95-108k in 2018! There was one in Colorado that a dealer was selling for 115k idk if he sold it though. Good luck!

That Colorado one can be had for 90k (I negotiated last year) but the catch is it was a bank repo, it has a really nasty chip in the roof that will be very expensive to fix, the front lip is scratched to hell along with both carbon fiber parts, the tires are spent and overall condition is just terrible. The owner of the dealership that has it bought it to use for marketing basically so he knows he has it overpriced.
However, to Marks point, 100% agree. Good condition, no stories versions of what your looking for will be 100+. Very best of luck on your hunt!! I just sold my OTA this past weekend so will be on the hunt for my next viper soon myself.

What’s the benefit from buying private party vs dealer? Whether I buy a car dealer or Private party the tax is the same.

In AZ and NV, we don't pay taxes on private party purchases.

I may be just overthinking it... but seeings as the pool of acceptable vehicles your searching for is so low, and none of them are going to fall in the “amazing fire deal” category. Is 6kish in taxes worth not having the car you want? I would imagine you could atleast try to negotiate with the seller to make up a little bit of the taxes but narrowing your search down to private seller too, man your talking about a small pool of potential vehicles.
I wish you even more luck than before haha, I hope you find that hidden gem.

is OP aware of how much of a PITA anodized carbon is to take care of?

I'd probably have it ceramic coated to help with maintenance..but yes, I'm aware of how easily it scratches etc. A lot of them have clear bra on entire front end, and I've even seen some with clear bra over the entire car.

This. Not sure how deep SirHiss pockets are, but I'm not rolling in cash like that to just blink and throw away $6k..that's a nice set of forged wheels, full bolt ons, carbon aero, etc.
haha Did you guys stop reading after the question mark? :P Negotiate down to make up for the taxes.

Umm $6k is still $6k, there's no "well I got $6k off the price so that makes up for pissing away $6k"..doesn't work like that..I'd rather negotiate down $6k, and then NOT pay any taxes, as that's the big advantage I have living in AZ. I don't buy any cars from dealers lol.

I totally understand this sentiment and will do the same if I upgrade mine anytime soon. Also helps on resale and able to flip for a similar cost without losing too much...

Think y’all missed the point I was trying to make... nobody is disagreeing that 5-6k is a decent chunk of cash... the point I was making is, you are limiting your choices to some of the more desirable and less common options out there... if 5-6k in taxes is the difference between you getting the exact car you want vs never buying a car at all (because the perfect scenarios don’t present themselves) That seems like a pretty simple decision to me...
Your comment about not negotiating down to counter the cost of taxes but thinking you can negotiate down, and find the perfect car, and it be private seller, and and and... just tells me you will likely still be shopping a long time from now waiting for that perfect scenario. (Me personally, I’d rather pay a fair price and be enjoying a car now. No guarantees the perfect deal will ever arise, or that I’ll be in the right place at the right time to jump on it if it ever does...) So I go back to my original sentiment, best of luck on your search!

I'm going to have to agree with SirHiss here.
I don't think anyone is saying, "screw it, 6K in taxes is nothing!" But you're looking for 3 of the most highly sought after and highest valued Gen Vs. You are severely limiting your chances of finding one that fits all of your criteria and your budget vs. saving a little more cash over the next few weeks / months and opening yourself up to both private and non-private sales so that your chances of finding the car you really want are higher.
Good luck with your search. Love what you did with your Gen 2 and hope to see you in a Gen V soon.

Only thing that Stryker green car needs is the black or carbon fiber tail light surround.

Orange TA1's (and black and white) are the top dog in the resale value game except for ACR-E's, doubtful you'll find any bargains there. The AC models are great looking cars but need that specialized care not everybody's cup of tea but are really unique looking. Little to no demand for Stryker Green that's probably the one most likely to find at a "reasonable" price. Penny pincher Mark owns a SG so don't believe a word he says. They are not a highly sought after car.

The dude never said anything about reasonable pricing or “a deal.” My impression from his post is he knows they are rare and willing to pay for it. They just need to be a private sale so he can justify paying the price without an additional tax bill.

Any consideration for an ACR? It might give you more options.
This one is not for sale, just a pic for reference...Don't want to be condemned by the brethren on sale price, color, etc, etc, etc :lol2:
Good luck with your search..!
